MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Smooth the climb
A good takeoff has a defined shape. It also has a defined end. For an airliner that's thrust reduction and acceleration, commonly somewhere around 1,000 to 1,500 ft above the airfield depending on the operator, while for a light aircraft it's established at Vy with the flaps on schedule. Most simmers have no defined end to their takeoff, which is exactly why it never gets judged.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 4,265 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 362 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A320 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport, taking approximately 9 minutes to cover a distance of 2 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 17, with the aircraft taking off after covering 56% of the runway's length. The takeoff distance was 1,358 meters, and the liftoff speed was 146 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions with a temperature of 30°C and winds blowing at 13 knots from a direction of 130°. The crosswind component was 8 knots, while the headwind component was 10 knots. The aircraft began its enroute climb 1 mile south of the airport, rising from an altitude of 1,811 feet above sea level to 36,275 feet above sea level in 13 minutes, covering a distance of 107 nautical miles.
The enroute climb was followed by a level cruise, which started overhead the town of Carlos in Minnesota and lasted for 29 minutes. During this period, the aircraft covered a distance of 714 nautical miles. The enroute descent began 3 miles north of Vauxhall in Alberta, Canada, and saw the aircraft descend from an altitude of 35,168 feet above sea level to 4,896 feet above sea level in 13 minutes, covering a distance of 98 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 17L at Calgary International Airport was made from the north, with the aircraft heading in a direction of 181.0° at an altitude of 4 nautical miles and 1,324 feet above ground level. The landing took place on a runway with a length of 4,265 meters, and the threshold height was good. The threshold speed was also good at 137 knots, while the touchdown distance was 365 meters, which was within acceptable limits. However, the touchdown speed of 132 knots was a little fast, and the touchdown rate of -237 feet per minute was fair.
The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the runway rollout alignment was also perfect after the landing. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 12°C and winds blowing at 9 knots from a direction of 190°. The crosswind component was 2 knots, while the headwind component was 9 knots. The total landing distance was 1,435 meters, which was 34% of the runway's length.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, taking approximately 2 minutes to cover a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 928 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 68 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 5,748 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed on runway 17L at Calgary International Airport (CYYC) with a score of 99.7%. The aircraft was approaching the runway from the north, heading 181.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,324 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot maintained a good threshold height, which is a crucial aspect of a safe landing.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's threshold speed was recorded at 137 knots, which is within the acceptable range. The touchdown distance of 365 meters was also satisfactory, indicating that the pilot had sufficient control over the aircraft during the landing phase. However, the touchdown speed of 132 knots was slightly higher than the recommended speed, which may have resulted in a slightly higher touchdown rate.
The touchdown rate of -237 feet per minute (fpm) was considered fair, suggesting that the pilot could have maintained a more controlled descent. Nevertheless, the runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 12°C and a wind speed of 9 knots from a direction of 190°. The crosswind component was minimal at 2 knots, while the headwind component was 9 knots, which helped to reduce the landing distance.
The total landing distance of 1,435 meters was 34% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, indicating that the pilot had maintained control over the aircraft during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the pilot demonstrating good control and judgment throughout the approach and landing phases. However, there is room for improvement in terms of touchdown speed and touchdown rate to achieve a more optimal landing performance.
