Flight Score
Shorten the long landing
Ground effect becomes significant below about one wingspan of height. A Cessna 172, with a 36 ft span, enters ground effect at flare height - the float it feels in the hold-off is ground effect arriving on cue. An A320, with a span around 117 ft, has been in ground effect since before the threshold and there is no sudden cushion to feel, only a gradual reduction in induced drag that lengthens any float you allow.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,708 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 395 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Congratulations on achieving a remarkable landing score of 98.7%! Your overall performance was impressive, with each phase of the landing being evaluated in detail.
During the Approach Phase, it was noted that there was a poor descent path above the glideslope limit. While this may have impacted your score slightly, it is important to learn from this and focus on maintaining a steady descent path in future landings.
On the flip side, the Landing Phase showcased your exceptional skills with good threshold height and a perfect landing flare. Your ability to execute a smooth and precise landing demonstrates your proficiency as a pilot.
Moving on to the Touchdown Phase, it was highlighted that your touchdown rate was fair, and your speed was on target. Additionally, landing inside the touchdown zone is a significant accomplishment, further showcasing your expertise in landing management. The fact that you were only 1.6 meters off the runway's centerline is commendable and indicates your precision during touchdown.
Lastly, the Rollout Phase displayed very good runway alignment, which is crucial for navigating the aircraft safely to a stop. Your attention to detail and focus on maintaining proper alignment contributed to your high landing score.
Overall, your performance was exceptional, showcasing a strong skill set and attention to detail throughout the landing process. Keep up the fantastic work, and continue to refine your techniques to further improve your scores in future landings. Well done!
