Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 534 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 534 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 33 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking area to the runway, which took 15 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Kodiak 100, then departed from runway 19L at LIPB Bolzano Airport in Italy. The takeoff distance was 322 meters, which was 50% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 70 knots, and the local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of 27°C and a wind speed of 2 knots from 191°.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb, which started overhead LIPB Bolzano Airport. The climb took 9 minutes and covered 16 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from 1,115 feet above sea level to 15,491 feet above sea level, an increase of 14,376 feet. The enroute level cruise then began 2 miles south east of Velturno, Italy, and lasted for 16 minutes, covering 53 nautical miles.
The enroute descent started 5 miles south of Niedernsill, Austria, and took 8 minutes to descend from 15,454 feet above sea level to 2,561 feet above sea level, a decrease of 12,893 feet. The descent covered 9 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 26 at LOWZ Zell am See Airfield was made from the east, heading 256.0°, and the aircraft touched down on the runway with a touchdown distance of 29 meters.
The landing was characterized by a threshold speed that was slightly below the target at 61 knots, and a touchdown speed of 60 knots, which was considered good. The touchdown rate was smooth at -145 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.7 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions during the landing were characterized by a temperature of 24°C and a wind speed of 3 knots from 335°.
The total landing distance was 385 meters, which was 72% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good, and the aircraft taxied to the parking area from the runway in 1 minute, covering less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 80 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 37 minutes. The aircraft used 77 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The aircraft in question, a Kodiak 100, successfully landed at LOWZ Zell am See Airfield with a score of 97.4%. The final approach was conducted from the east, heading 256.0° at an altitude of 94 feet above ground level (agl) and 0 nautical miles from the runway. The aircraft touched down on runway 26, which has a length of 534 meters.
The threshold height was reported as good, but the threshold speed was slightly below the target at 61 knots. However, the touchdown distance of 29 meters was considered good, and the touchdown speed of 60 knots was also within acceptable limits. The touchdown rate was smooth at -145 feet per minute (fpm), indicating a controlled descent.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 4.7 meters, which may require some adjustments during future landings. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 24°C and a light wind of 3 knots at 335°. The crosswind component was 3 knots, while the headwind component was 1 knot.
The total landing distance of 385 meters was 72% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was well under control during the landing roll. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft meeting most of the performance criteria.
