Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 7,970 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 2,238 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Beechcraft A36 Bonanza taxiing from the parking area to the runway at KEGE Eagle County Regional Airport, taking approximately 2 minutes to cover less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then departed from runway 25, with a takeoff distance of 2,076 feet, which accounted for 26% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 88 knots.
As the aircraft climbed, it encountered local weather conditions with a temperature of 41°F and a wind speed of 9 knots at 90°. The crosswind was minimal at 1 knot, while the tailwind was 9 knots. The enroute climb started overhead Gypsum, Colorado, where the aircraft ascended from 7,111 feet above sea level to 8,348 feet, an increase of 1,237 feet in just 1 minute, covering a distance of 2 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began 1 mile east of CO47 Goldys Field Gypsum, lasting 3 minutes and covering 4 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 25 at KEGE Eagle County Regional Airport was made from the east, with a heading of 263.0° at 2 nautical miles and 643 feet above ground level.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on runway 25, which had a length of 7,970 feet. The threshold height was above the target at 66 feet above ground level, while the threshold speed was slightly above target at 79 knots. The touchdown point was 825 feet beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 66 knots and a smooth touchdown rate of -135 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 16 feet from the centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 39°F and a wind speed of 8 knots at 90°, with a minimal crosswind of 1 knot and a tailwind of 8 knots. The total landing distance was 3,285 feet, accounting for 41% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, taking approximately 3 minutes to cover less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 10 nautical miles, taking 9 minutes, and the aircraft used 9 pounds of fuel.
The Beechcraft A36 Bonanza successfully landed at KEGE Eagle County Regional Airport, achieving an overall score of 88.7%. The aircraft approached the runway from the east, heading 263.0° at 2 nautical miles and 643 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was made to runway 25, which has a length of 7,970 feet.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down 825 feet beyond the touchdown zone, which is slightly off-center. However, the touchdown speed of 66 knots was within the target range, and the touchdown rate of -135 feet per minute (fpm) was smooth, indicating a controlled descent. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 16 feet from the centerline, but this did not seem to affect the overall performance of the landing.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were relatively calm, with a temperature of 39°F and a wind speed of 8 knots from a direction of 90°. This resulted in a crosswind of 1 knot and a tailwind of 8 knots, which may have contributed to the slight misalignment of the touchdown position. Despite this, the runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the landing.
The total landing distance of 3,285 feet was 41% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. Overall, the landing was successful, and the pilot demonstrated good control and precision during the approach and touchdown.
