Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: seven checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
At the 500 ft gate: off the centreline.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,020 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 1,020 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 96 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Vision Jet taxiing from the parking area to the runway at LIQW Sarzana-Luni Air Base, taking approximately 4 minutes and covering less than 1 nautical mile. The departure roll took place on runway 36, with the aircraft lifting off at a speed of 96 knots. The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 21°C, a wind speed of 4 knots from 240°, and a crosswind of 3 knots and a tailwind of 2 knots.
As the aircraft climbed away from the air base, it began its enroute climb, reaching an altitude of 21,717 feet above sea level (asl) in 12 minutes, covering a distance of 38 nautical miles. The climb started overhead the air base in Sarzana, Liguria, Italy, and took the aircraft over the surrounding region. The enroute level cruise phase began approximately 1 mile northeast of Ferriere, Emilia-Romagna, Italy, and lasted for 29 minutes, covering a distance of 134 nautical miles.
As the aircraft continued its journey, it began its enroute descent from 21,726 feet asl to 5,069 feet asl, a decrease of 16,658 feet in 10 minutes, covering a distance of 42 nautical miles. The descent started 4 miles west of Leukerbad, Canton du Valais, Switzerland. The aircraft then began a series of short climbs and descents, including a climb from 5,035 feet asl to 5,975 feet asl in 2 minutes, covering 5 nautical miles, and a descent from 6,456 feet asl to 5,003 feet asl in 2 minutes, covering 5 nautical miles.
The final enroute level cruise phase began 1 mile west of Saint-Imier, Canton de Berne, Switzerland, and lasted for 3 minutes, covering a distance of 9 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent, from 4,849 feet asl to 4,107 feet asl in 2 minutes, covering 2 nautical miles, before starting its final approach to runway 06 at LSGC Les Eplatures Airport.
The final approach was made from the southwest, heading 51.0° at 2 nautical miles and 739 feet above ground level (agl). The landing took place on runway 06, which had a length of 1,020 meters. The threshold height was good, but the threshold speed was excessively high at 94 knots. The touchdown distance was good at 94 meters, but the touchdown speed was excessively fast at 91 knots. The touchdown rate was firm at -380 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 11°C, a wind speed of 3 knots from 95°, and a crosswind of 2 knots and a headwind of 2 knots. The total landing distance was 378 meters, which was 37% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, and the total flight distance was 238 nautical miles, taking approximately 66 minutes and using 35 kilograms of fuel.
The Vision Jet has successfully landed at LSGC Les Eplatures Airport, achieving a score of 93.3%. The aircraft approached the runway from the southwest, heading 51.0° at 2 nautical miles and 739 feet above ground level (agl). The landing was executed on runway 06, which has a length of 1,020 meters.
The threshold height was reported as good, indicating that the aircraft was at the correct height as it approached the runway threshold. However, the threshold speed was excessively high at 94 knots, suggesting that the pilot may have been able to slow down more quickly before touchdown. The touchdown distance was good at 94 meters, indicating that the aircraft was able to touch down within a reasonable distance from the threshold.
The touchdown speed was excessively fast at 91 knots, which may have resulted in a firm touchdown rate of -380 feet per minute (fpm). A firm touchdown rate can be a concern, as it may indicate that the aircraft is touching down with too much force, which can put additional stress on the landing gear and potentially lead to damage.
Despite the concerns with the threshold speed and touchdown speed, the runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was aligned with the runway centerline as it touched down. The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 11°C and a light wind of 3 knots at 95°.
The total landing distance was 378 meters, which is 37% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating that the aircraft was able to touch down and come to a stop quickly. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was able to maintain its alignment with the runway centerline as it rolled out after touchdown.
Overall, the Vision Jet's landing at LSGC Les Eplatures Airport was successful, but there are some areas for improvement, particularly with regards to the threshold speed and touchdown speed.
