MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: seven checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,395 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 324 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Gran Canaria Airport, taking 13 minutes and covering a distance of 3 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 03L, with a takeoff distance of 1,490 meters, which was 48% of the runway length. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 160 knots.
As the aircraft climbed out of Gran Canaria Airport, it encountered local weather conditions of 24°C temperature and a wind of 17 knots at 29°. The crosswind was 3 knots, while the headwind was 17 knots. The enroute climb started overhead the airport, with the aircraft ascending from 1,010 feet above sea level to 2,527 feet, an increase of 1,517 feet in just 1 minute, covering a distance of 2 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered a level cruise, starting 3 miles east of Telde, and lasted for 3 minutes, covering a distance of 15 nautical miles. The next enroute climb started 1 mile northwest of Arucas, with the aircraft ascending from 3,702 feet to 12,991 feet, an increase of 9,289 feet in 3 minutes, covering a distance of 17 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, starting 13 miles northwest of Galdar, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 10 nautical miles. However, the aircraft then began its descent, starting 13 miles east of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and descended from 13,009 feet to 5,007 feet, a decrease of 8,003 feet in 7 minutes, covering a distance of 30 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, starting 7 miles east of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 6 nautical miles. However, the aircraft then began its final descent, starting 7 miles southeast of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and descended from 5,008 feet to 2,883 feet, a decrease of 2,125 feet in 3 minutes, covering a distance of 9 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 30 at Tenerife Norte-Ciudad de La Laguna Airport was made from the east, heading 291.0°, at an altitude of 2 nautical miles and 835 feet above ground level. The landing took place on a runway length of 3,395 meters, with a threshold height of 65 feet above ground level, which was above the target. The threshold speed was slightly above target at 140 knots.
The touchdown distance was good at 326 meters, but the touchdown speed was a little fast at 135 knots. The touchdown rate was very hard at -559 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.5 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 15°C temperature and a wind of 9 knots at 300°, with a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 9 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,040 meters, which was 31% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area from the runway, taking 2 minutes and covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 96 nautical miles, taking 34 minutes, and the aircraft used 1,290 kilograms of fuel.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed at Tenerife Norte-Ciudad de La Laguna Airport, achieving a score of 92.1%. The aircraft approached the runway from the east, heading 291.0° at 2 nautical miles and 835 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was made to runway 30, which has a length of 3,395 meters.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down at a speed of 135 knots, which was slightly above the target speed. The touchdown distance of 326 meters was considered good, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. However, the touchdown rate of -559 feet per minute (fpm) was very hard, suggesting that the aircraft may have been descending too quickly.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 5.5 meters, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the aircraft's approach path. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 15°C, with a wind speed of 9 knots from 300°. The crosswind component was minimal at 1 knot, while the headwind component was 9 knots, which may have contributed to the aircraft's slightly fast touchdown speed.
The total landing distance of 1,040 meters was 31% of the runway length, indicating that the aircraft was able to stop within a reasonable distance. The runway rollout alignment was very good, suggesting that the aircraft's brakes were applied smoothly and effectively to bring the aircraft to a stop.
Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft achieving a high score despite some minor deviations from the target parameters.
