MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Arrival
Reduce power earlier on final to bleed speed back to 128 kt before crossing the threshold.
What happened: You crossed the threshold at 138 kt, 10 kt above the 128 kt target.
Watch for: Airspeed, targeting 128 kt at the threshold.
See Arrival Landing
Every knot above Vref is stored kinetic energy, and energy stored at the threshold must be dissipated in ground effect before the aeroplane will stop flying. Because kinetic energy scales with the square of speed, the excess you must dissipate grows fast. At a 45-knot approach, five knots hot is over a tenth more speed and roughly a quarter more energy to get rid of in ground effect. This is why the fix is never in the flare. It was decided three miles earlier, on final, at the airspeed indicator.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
At the 1,000 ft gate: speed above the reference speed.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,352 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 450 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport, the Boeing 737-800 began its journey by taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took approximately 2 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. As it reached the runway threshold, the aircraft accelerated down runway 31L, lifting off at a speed of 147 knots after a takeoff distance of 877 meters, which accounted for 29% of the runway's length. The local weather conditions at the time of departure featured a temperature of 12°C, with a gentle headwind of 6 knots and a crosswind of 2 knots.
As the aircraft climbed away from Budapest, it began its enroute climb, which started 1 mile west of the airport and continued for 32 minutes, covering a distance of 247 nautical miles. The aircraft ascended from an initial altitude of 1,444 feet above sea level to a cruising altitude of 35,592 feet, an increase of 34,148 feet. Following this climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which lasted for 31 minutes and covered 238 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, which started 3 miles southwest of Altenbeken, Germany, and continued for 21 minutes, covering 140 nautical miles. The aircraft descended from a cruising altitude of 35,825 feet to an altitude of 2,559 feet, a decrease of 33,266 feet.
As the aircraft approached its destination, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, it entered a final level cruise phase, which lasted for 2 minutes and covered 7 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent, which started overhead Muiden, Netherlands, and continued for 2 minutes, covering 5 nautical miles. The aircraft landed on runway 27 at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, touching down at a speed of 128 knots and a distance of 450 meters, which was 27% of the runway's length. The aircraft's touchdown rate was excellent at -97 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good. Following the landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, a process that took approximately 1 minute and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 642 nautical miles, and the aircraft used 4,875 kilograms of fuel during the flight, which lasted for 94 minutes.
The Boeing 737-800 touched down on runway 27 at EHAM Amsterdam Airport Schiphol with a score of 99.7%. The aircraft approached the runway from the east, heading 267.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,261 feet above ground level. The good threshold height was maintained throughout the approach, allowing for a smooth transition to the runway. However, the threshold speed was slightly above the target, reaching 138 knots.
The touchdown characteristics were generally good, with a touchdown distance of 450 meters. Although the touchdown speed of 128 knots was a little fast, the touchdown rate of -97 feet per minute was excellent. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating precise control during the final stages of the approach. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 9°C and winds of 8 knots at 230°, contributed to a relatively calm landing environment. The crosswind component was 5 knots, while the headwind component was 6 knots.
The total landing distance of 910 meters, which accounted for 27% of the runway length, was satisfactory. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, demonstrating excellent control and coordination during the post-landing phase. Overall, the landing was executed with precision and control, resulting in a high score of 99.7%.
