MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,712 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 616 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking area to the runway, which took 5 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Cessna Longitude, then departed from runway 01R at Harry Reid International Airport (KLAS) in Las Vegas, Nevada. The takeoff distance was 787 meters, which accounted for 31% of the runway length. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 130 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to its cruising altitude, it encountered local weather conditions of 14°C temperature and a wind speed of 5 knots from a direction of 339°. The crosswind component was 4 knots, while the headwind component was also 4 knots. The enroute climb started overhead Paradise, Nevada, and took the aircraft from an altitude of 3,183 feet above sea level to 28,302 feet above sea level, an increase of 25,119 feet in 9 minutes and covering a distance of 41 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began 13 miles northwest of the Hart Mine Airport (9CL4) in Ivanpah, California, and lasted for 11 minutes, covering a distance of 86 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its enroute descent 2 miles north of the Valley Vista Airport (6CA5) in Yucca Valley, California. The descent took the aircraft from an altitude of 28,457 feet above sea level to 1,408 feet above sea level, a decrease of 27,049 feet in 20 minutes and covering a distance of 90 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 24R at Los Angeles International Airport (KLAX) was made from the east, heading 263.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,271 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 24R, which had a length of 2,712 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 114 knots. The touchdown point was 194 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 102 knots, which was considered good. The touchdown rate was smooth at -137 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 15°C temperature and a wind speed of 4 knots from a direction of 110°. The crosswind component was 2 knots, while the tailwind component was 4 knots. The total landing distance was 1,325 meters, which accounted for 49% of the runway length. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 7.7 meters from the centerline.
The taxiing period from the runway to the parking area took 3 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 225 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 51 minutes. The aircraft used 937 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Cessna Longitude successfully landed at KLAX Los Angeles International Airport, achieving a high score of 95.1%. The aircraft approached the runway from the east, heading 263.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,271 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was executed with precision, and the aircraft landed smoothly on runway 24R, which has a length of 2,712 meters.
The threshold height was good, indicating that the aircraft was at the correct altitude as it approached the runway. The threshold speed of 114 knots was also satisfactory, demonstrating the pilot's ability to control the aircraft's speed during the landing phase. The touchdown point was 194 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which is a relatively minor deviation but still within acceptable limits.
The touchdown speed of 102 knots was good, and the touchdown rate of -137 feet per minute (fpm) was smooth, indicating a controlled descent. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, showing that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway centerline at the moment of touchdown.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 15°C and a wind speed of 4 knots from a direction of 110°. The crosswind component was minimal at 2 knots, and the tailwind component was 4 knots, which is relatively minor and did not significantly impact the landing.
The total landing distance was 1,325 meters, which is 49% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating that the pilot was able to control the aircraft's speed and descent rate effectively. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 7.7 meters from the centerline, which is a minor deviation that could be improved upon in future landings.
Overall, the Cessna Longitude's landing at KLAX Los Angeles International Airport was a success, with a high score and a smooth, controlled descent. While there were some minor deviations from the ideal landing, the pilot's skills and the aircraft's performance were demonstrated to be satisfactory.
