Departure
Ease the nose up sooner to lift off at 128 kt instead of letting speed build on the ground.
What happened: The aircraft lifted off at 150 kt, 22 kt above the target liftoff speed.
Watch for: Airspeed indicator: 128 kt at liftoff

Arrival
Reduce power earlier on final so threshold speed settles at 103 kt instead of carrying it into the flare.
What happened: You crossed the threshold at 156 kt, well above the 103 kt target speed, and that excess speed was still showing at touchdown. Crossing the threshold fast usually carries straight through to a fast touchdown.
Watch for: Airspeed indicator against 103 kt on short final.
Every knot above Vref is stored kinetic energy, and energy stored at the threshold must be dissipated in ground effect before the aeroplane will stop flying. Because kinetic energy scales with the square of speed, the excess you must dissipate grows fast. At a 45-knot approach, five knots hot is over a tenth more speed and roughly a quarter more energy to get rid of in ground effect. This is why the fix is never in the flare. It was decided three miles earlier, on final, at the airspeed indicator.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
At the 1,000 ft gate: speed above the reference speed.
At the 500 ft gate: off the runway's 3° glideslope and speed above the reference speed.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 6,784 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 6,784 ft of the 7,164 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 5,199 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Embraer E190 aircraft took off from runway 07R at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, departing at a liftoff speed of 150 kt. The local weather conditions at the time of departure were a temperature of 75 °F, with a wind speed of 10 kt at 120 °, resulting in a 5 kt crosswind and an 8 kt headwind.
As the aircraft climbed to its initial cruising altitude, it began its enroute climb from 2,135 ft above sea level to 37,737 ft, an increase of 35,602 ft in just 21 minutes, covering a distance of 154 nm. This marked the beginning of the aircraft's long journey.
The first level cruise segment started 11 miles south east of Saint Johns, Arizona, and lasted for 92 minutes, covering a distance of 828 nm. The aircraft then began another climb, this time from 38,282 ft to 40,170 ft, an increase of 1,888 ft in just 3 minutes, covering a distance of 29 nm.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise segment, starting 5 miles east of Columbia Regional Airport in Missouri, and lasted for 110 minutes, covering a distance of 883 nm. This was followed by a descent from 39,621 ft to 7,052 ft, a decrease of 32,570 ft in 13 minutes, covering a distance of 68 nm.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise segment, starting 3 miles north east of Wyoming, Rhode Island, and lasted for just 2 minutes, covering a distance of 4 nm. However, this was short-lived, as the aircraft began its descent from 6,708 ft to 3,403 ft, a decrease of 3,305 ft in just 2 minutes, covering a distance of 4 nm.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise segment, starting 3 miles south of West Greenwich, Rhode Island, and lasted for just 3 minutes, covering a distance of 4 nm. However, this was followed by another descent, from 2,883 ft to 1,455 ft, a decrease of 1,427 ft in 3 minutes, covering a distance of 5 nm.
The final approach to runway 05 at Theodore Francis Green State Airport was made from the south west, heading 32.0 ° at 4 nm and 1,397 ft above ground level. The landing was made on the runway, which was 7,164 ft long, with a threshold height of 60 ft above ground level, slightly above the target. The threshold speed was excessively high at 156 kt.
The touchdown point was very long, using more than 50% of the available runway, with a touchdown speed of 116 kt, which was fast. However, the touchdown rate was smooth at -102 fpm. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 18 ft from the centreline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 55 °F, with a wind speed of 14 kt at 30 °, resulting in a 0 kt crosswind and a 14 kt headwind.
The total landing distance was 6,497 ft, which was 91% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The aircraft then taxied to the parking from the runway, taking just 2 minutes and covering less than 1 nm.
The total flight distance was 1,986 nm, taking a total of 258 minutes, and the aircraft used 16,246 lbs of fuel during the journey.
The Embraer E190 aircraft successfully landed at KPVD Theodore Francis Green State Airport, but the landing was not without its challenges. The final approach to runway 05 was initiated from the southwest, heading 32.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,397 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft touched down on the runway, but the touchdown point was very long, utilizing more than 50% of the available runway.
The threshold height at 60 feet agl was slightly above the target, indicating that the aircraft may have been slightly high on its approach. Furthermore, the threshold speed was excessively high at 156 knots, which is a concern as it may have put additional stress on the aircraft's landing gear and brakes. The touchdown speed of 116 knots was also fast, which could have contributed to the long touchdown point.
Despite these issues, the touchdown rate was smooth at -102 feet per minute (fpm), indicating that the aircraft's descent was controlled and stable. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 18 feet from the centerline, which may have been due to the high crosswind component.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 55°F and a wind speed of 14 knots at 30°. The crosswind component was negligible, but the headwind component was 14 knots, which may have contributed to the high threshold speed.
The total landing distance was 6,497 feet, which is 91% of the available runway length. This is a relatively long landing distance, but the runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft's brakes were able to slow it down effectively.
Overall, while the landing was not perfect, the Embraer E190 was able to safely touch down on the runway and come to a stop without incident. However, the high threshold speed and fast touchdown speed are areas that need to be addressed to improve the landing performance of the aircraft.
