MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,520 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 370 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the RJ85 CityJet aircraft taxiing from the parking to the runway at Viru Viru International Airport, taking 6 minutes and covering a distance of 1 nautical mile. The departure roll took place on runway 16, with the aircraft lifting off after a takeoff distance of 1,528 meters, which was 44% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 141 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of 26°C temperature and a wind speed of 6 knots at 250°. The crosswind was 6 knots, while the tailwind was 1 knot. The enroute climb began 1 mile south east of the airport, with the aircraft ascending from 2,235 feet above sea level to 32,968 feet above sea level, an increase of 30,733 feet in 47 minutes, covering a distance of 281 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 14 miles north west of Santa Ana de Yacuma, lasting 183 minutes and covering 1,233 nautical miles. The enroute descent began 3 miles south of Villeta, with the aircraft descending from 33,312 feet above sea level to 8,248 feet above sea level, a decrease of 25,064 feet in 18 minutes, covering a distance of 88 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 01 at Jose Maria Córdova International Airport took place from the south, with the aircraft heading 360° at 4 nautical miles and 1,243 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 01 took place on a runway length of 3,520 meters, with the threshold height at 68 feet above ground level being above the target. The threshold speed was slightly below the target at 106 knots.
The touchdown distance was good at 370 meters, with the touchdown speed at 98 knots also being good. However, the touchdown rate was hard at -485 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, and the local weather conditions at the time of landing were 17°C temperature and a wind speed of 3 knots at 74°, with a crosswind of 3 knots and a headwind of 1 knot.
The total landing distance was 920 meters, which was 26% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was also very good. The aircraft then taxiied to the parking from the runway, taking 4 minutes and covering less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 1,611 nautical miles, taking 259 minutes and using 7,708 kilograms of fuel.
The aircraft, a Just Flight RJ85 CityJet, successfully landed at SKRG Jose Maria Córdova International Airport, achieving a score of 91.3%. The final approach to runway 01 was conducted from the south, with a heading of 360.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,243 feet above ground level (agl).
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway at a speed of 98 knots, which was within the acceptable range. The touchdown distance of 370 meters was also considered good. However, the touchdown rate was slightly hard, coming in at -485 feet per minute (fpm). This may indicate that the aircraft could have been slowed down slightly more before touchdown to achieve a smoother landing.
The runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway during the landing. The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were relatively calm, with a temperature of 17°C and a wind speed of 3 knots from a direction of 74°. The crosswind component was 3 knots, while the headwind component was 1 knot.
The total landing distance of 920 meters was 26% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance. This suggests that the aircraft was able to slow down quickly and efficiently after touchdown. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft achieving a good touchdown speed and distance, and a very good runway touchdown and rollout alignment. However, the hard touchdown rate may indicate a need for further refinement in the landing technique.
