Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: six checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
At the 500 ft gate: sink rate above what the glideslope needed, off the centreline, wings not level and speed above the reference speed.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,552 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 229 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 08 at EFHA Halli Airport. The aircraft, a C750, accelerated down the runway and lifted off at a speed of 137 kt, covering a takeoff distance of 304 m, which was 12% of the runway length. The local weather conditions at the time of takeoff were characterized by a temperature of 6 °C and a wind speed of 5 kt from a direction of 160 °, resulting in a headwind of 2 kt and a crosswind of 5 kt.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb 1 mile east of EFHA Halli Airport, rising from an altitude of 1,380 ft above sea level to 2,203 ft, an increase of 823 ft in just 1 minute. This climb phase covered a distance of 4 nm. Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which lasted for 3 minutes and covered a distance of 8 nm. This phase began 4 miles east of the airport.
The enroute descent phase started 5 miles south of EFHA Halli Airport and saw the aircraft descend from an altitude of 1,850 ft to 856 ft, a decrease of 994 ft in 2 minutes. This descent phase covered a distance of 5 nm. The final approach to runway 08 at EFHA Halli Airport was made from the west, with the aircraft heading 87.0 ° at an altitude of 361 ft above ground level and a distance of 1 nm from the runway threshold.
The landing on runway 08 was successful, with the aircraft touching down at a speed of 116 kt, which was slightly faster than the recommended threshold speed of 121 kt. The touchdown distance was 226 m, which was within the acceptable range. The touchdown rate was firm at -340 fpm, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 8 °C and a wind speed of 6 kt from a direction of 160 °, resulting in a headwind of 2 kt and a crosswind of 6 kt.
The total landing distance was 1,124 m, which was 44% of the runway length. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 14.5 m from the centreline. The total flight distance was 19 nm, and the flight duration was 8 minutes. The aircraft used 87 kg of fuel during the flight.
Aircraft C750 successfully landed at EFHA Halli Airport, achieving a score of 93.2%. The final approach to runway 08 was conducted from the west, with a heading of 87.0° at 1 nautical mile and 361 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft demonstrated good control and precision during the approach, ultimately landing safely on the runway.
The landing performance was satisfactory, with a good threshold height and a threshold speed of 121 knots, which is within the acceptable range. The touchdown distance of 226 meters was also within the expected parameters. However, the touchdown speed of 116 knots was slightly faster than desired, indicating that the pilot may have been able to flare the aircraft more effectively to achieve a smoother touchdown.
The touchdown rate of -340 feet per minute (fpm) was firm, suggesting that the aircraft touched down with a moderate amount of force. This is not necessarily a cause for concern, as a firm touchdown can be beneficial in terms of reducing the risk of wheel damage or other landing-related issues. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot maintained a high level of control and precision during the final stages of the approach.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were characterized by a temperature of 8°C and a wind speed of 6 knots from a direction of 160°. The crosswind component was 6 knots, while the headwind component was 2 knots. These conditions were relatively calm, which likely contributed to the successful landing.
The total landing distance of 1,124 meters was 44% of the runway length, which is a reasonable distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 14.5 meters from the centerline, indicating that the pilot may have experienced some difficulty in maintaining a straight course during the rollout phase. This is a relatively minor issue, but it does highlight the need for the pilot to focus on maintaining a stable and aligned course during the final stages of the landing.
