Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,057 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,057 ft of the 8,023 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 1,767 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 10 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-900, then departed from runway 12L at the Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (KMSP). The takeoff distance was 5,833 feet, which accounted for 73% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 163 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to its cruising altitude, it started its enroute climb 1 mile south west of Mendota Heights, Minnesota. The climb took 19 minutes and covered a distance of 135 nautical miles, with the aircraft rising from an altitude of 1,861 feet above sea level to 35,117 feet above sea level, an increase of 33,257 feet. The enroute level cruise then began overhead Gays Mills, Wisconsin, and lasted for 76 minutes, covering a distance of 627 nautical miles.
The enroute descent started 2 miles west of Columbus, North Carolina, and took 28 minutes to complete, covering a distance of 118 nautical miles. The aircraft descended from an altitude of 35,219 feet above sea level to 1,419 feet above sea level, a decrease of 33,800 feet. The final approach to runway 35 at the Augusta Regional At Bush Field (KAGS) was made from the south, with the aircraft heading 348.0 degrees at an altitude of 1,257 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway.
The landing on runway 35 was successful, with the touchdown point being 410 feet beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was slightly above the target at 144 knots, but the touchdown rate was smooth at -130 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the runway rollout alignment was very good. The local weather at the time of landing was 82 degrees Fahrenheit.
The total landing distance was 4,800 feet, which accounted for 60% of the runway. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 2 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 889 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 137 minutes. The aircraft used 13,051 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-900 aircraft successfully landed at KAGS Augusta Regional At Bush Field, achieving a score of 98.4%. The final approach to runway 35 was conducted from the south, with the aircraft heading 348.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,257 feet above ground level.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway, with the threshold height being described as good. However, the threshold speed was slightly above the target speed of 144 kt. The touchdown point was located 410 feet beyond the touchdown zone, indicating that the aircraft landed slightly further down the runway than intended. The touchdown speed of 137 kt was also a little fast, but the touchdown rate was smooth at -130 feet per minute, suggesting a controlled descent.
The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway during the landing. The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 82°F. The total landing distance was 4,800 feet, which is 60% of the runway length of 8,023 feet. This suggests that the aircraft had sufficient runway remaining for a safe stop.
During the rollout, the aircraft's alignment with the runway was very good, indicating a smooth and controlled deceleration. Overall, the landing was successful, with the aircraft achieving a high score and demonstrating good control and precision during the final approach and touchdown.
