MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,778 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,778 m of the 3,219 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 559 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft, an Airbus A321, taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (KMSP). This process took 6 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 30R, with the aircraft lifting off after a takeoff distance of 1,269 meters, which accounted for 52% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 150 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of 22°C temperature and a wind speed of 6 knots at 256°. The crosswind was 5 knots, and the headwind was also 5 knots. The enroute climb began overhead KMSP, with the aircraft ascending from 1,825 feet above sea level to 34,173 feet above sea level, an increase of 32,348 feet in 15 minutes, covering a distance of 123 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 2 miles north of Worthington Municipal Airport (KOTG) and lasted for 39 minutes, covering a distance of 895 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent 9 miles west of Mogollon Airpark (AZ82), descending from 34,050 feet above sea level to 2,421 feet above sea level, a decrease of 31,628 feet in 12 minutes, covering a distance of 82 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 26 at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (KPHX) was made from the east, with the aircraft heading 270.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,287 feet above ground level. The landing took place on runway 26, which had a length of 3,219 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 141 knots.
The touchdown point was 146 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 132 knots, which was slightly fast. However, the touchdown rate was smooth at -103 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.7 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 32°C temperature and a wind speed of 4 knots at 230°, with a crosswind of 2 knots and a headwind of 3 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,701 meters, accounting for 53% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area from the runway, taking 5 minutes and covering less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 1,108 nautical miles, taking 77 minutes, and the aircraft used 8,330 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A321 successfully landed at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, achieving a score of 97.6%. The aircraft approached the runway from the east, heading 270.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,287 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was executed with a good threshold height, indicating that the aircraft was properly configured for landing.
Upon touchdown, the threshold speed was recorded at 141 knots, which is within the acceptable range. However, the touchdown speed of 132 knots was slightly faster than desired, suggesting that the aircraft may have been slightly over-extended during the landing. The touchdown rate was smooth, with a descent rate of -103 feet per minute (fpm), indicating a controlled and stable landing.
The touchdown point was located 146 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, which is a relatively minor deviation. Additionally, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.7 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to a slight drift during the landing. Despite these minor deviations, the runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway during the landing roll.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 32°C and a wind speed of 4 knots from 230°. The crosswind component was minimal at 2 knots, while the headwind component was 3 knots. The total landing distance was 1,701 meters, which is 53% of the available runway length. Overall, the landing was executed with a high degree of precision and control, despite some minor deviations from the ideal touchdown point and speed.
