Keep the approach speed on target
Every knot above Vref is stored kinetic energy, and energy stored at the threshold must be dissipated in ground effect before the aeroplane will stop flying. Because kinetic energy scales with the square of speed, the excess you must dissipate grows fast. At a 45-knot approach, five knots hot is over a tenth more speed and roughly a quarter more energy to get rid of in ground effect. This is why the fix is never in the flare. It was decided three miles earlier, on final, at the airspeed indicator.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 618 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 618 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 41 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Great job on achieving a landing score of 94.2%! Let's break down your performance in each phase of the landing process.
During the Approach Phase, you had some challenges with unstable glideslope alignment and falling below the target speed. It's important to maintain proper speed and glideslope alignment to avoid stalling. Focus on making gradual adjustments to ensure a smooth approach.
Moving on to the Landing Phase, you did well with the threshold height and landing flare. However, there were issues with bank angle stability during the actual landing. Work on keeping a steady bank angle to improve overall landing precision.
In the Touchdown Phase, your touchdown rate was fantastic and you maintained the correct touchdown speed. It's great to see that you were able to land within the touchdown zone and close to the centreline. Keep up the good work in this area.
Lastly, during the Rollout Phase, it's noted that the runway alignment was slightly off from the centreline. Pay attention to maintaining a straight path during rollout to ensure a smooth and controlled landing.
Overall, you should be proud of your performance with a score of 94.2%. Focus on refining your glideslope alignment, bank angle stability, and runway alignment to further improve your landings. Keep up the hard work and continue striving for excellence in each phase of the landing process. You're on the right track!
