MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,565 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,565 m of the 3,987 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 601 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A321 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at LTAI Antalya International Airport, a process that took 13 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft then departed from runway 36C, with a takeoff distance of 554 meters, which accounted for 16% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 172 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time were characterized by a temperature of 17°C, a wind speed of 15 knots at 360°, and a crosswind of 2 knots and a headwind of 15 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to a higher altitude, it began its enroute climb from 1,173 feet above sea level to 33,077 feet above sea level, an increase of 31,904 feet in 25 minutes, covering a distance of 167 nautical miles. The climb started 1 mile north of LTAI Antalya International Airport and continued until the aircraft reached its cruising altitude. The enroute level cruise then began 8 miles south of LTIN THK İnönü Airfield Inonu, lasting 105 minutes and covering 781 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began its enroute descent from 32,923 feet above sea level to 13,780 feet above sea level, a decrease of 19,143 feet in 18 minutes, covering a distance of 113 nautical miles. This descent started overhead Gundersdorf, a town in Steiermark, Austria. The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, this time lasting only 2 minutes and covering 9 nautical miles, as it flew over Kirchanschoring in Bavaria, Germany.
The next descent phase began overhead Palling, also in Bavaria, Germany, and took the aircraft from 13,781 feet above sea level to 10,892 feet above sea level, a decrease of 2,889 feet in 3 minutes, covering a distance of 19 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, lasting 2 minutes and covering 9 nautical miles, as it flew over Haag in Oberbayern, Bavaria, Germany.
The next descent phase began 1 mile northwest of Buch am Buchrain, Bavaria, Germany, and took the aircraft from 10,893 feet above sea level to 3,892 feet above sea level, a decrease of 7,001 feet in 5 minutes, covering a distance of 23 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, lasting 3 minutes and covering 9 nautical miles, as it flew 1 mile north of Grobenzell, Bavaria, Germany.
The final descent phase began overhead Haimhausen, Bavaria, Germany, and took the aircraft from 3,900 feet above sea level to 2,777 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,123 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 4 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 08R at EDDM Munich Airport, flying from the west at a heading of 83.0° and at an altitude of 4 nautical miles and 1,301 feet above ground level.
However, the aircraft was required to perform a go-around at an altitude of 442 feet above ground level due to unknown reasons. The aircraft then landed on runway 08R at EDDM Munich Airport, with a runway length of 3,987 meters. The threshold height was above the target, and the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 143 knots. The touchdown point was 183 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 137 knots, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was fair at -231 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good.
The local weather conditions
The Airbus A321 successfully landed on runway 08R at EDDM Munich Airport, achieving a score of 90.3%. The aircraft approached the runway from the west, heading 83.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,301 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was conducted with a slight deviation in terms of threshold height, as it was above the target height of 70 feet agl.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was slightly above the target at 143 knots, and the touchdown speed of 137 knots was a little fast. However, the touchdown rate of -231 feet per minute (fpm) was considered fair. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway during the landing.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were characterized by a temperature of 8°C and a wind speed of 7 knots at a direction of 50°. The crosswind component was 4 knots, while the headwind component was 6 knots. These conditions did not appear to significantly impact the landing.
The total landing distance of 1,483 meters was 37% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, indicating that the aircraft maintained its alignment with the runway during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft achieving a high score of 90.3%. However, there were some minor deviations from the target values, including the threshold height, touchdown speed, and touchdown rate.
