Improve the pattern base leg
See Pattern Base Leg
Bank angle in the pattern is conventionally kept to 20 to 30 degrees, and the base-to-final turn is where that convention earns its keep. Stall speed rises with bank because the wing must produce more lift in a turn. Roughly 7 per cent higher at 30 degrees, about 19 per cent at 45, and around 40 per cent at 60. At 65 kt on base you don't have much margin to spend steepening a turn to salvage an overshoot.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate for a circuit: seven checks where the approach path is 300 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate is an instrument-approach check and does not apply.
At the 300 ft gate: wings not level and speed below the reference speed.

Side view — the last 1,322 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 1,322 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 94 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 10 at LSZR Sankt Gallen Altenrhein Airport, a Cessna C172 aircraft taking to the skies. The takeoff distance was 442 meters, which accounted for 33% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 62 knots, and the local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius and a gentle wind of 2 knots at 270 degrees.
As the aircraft entered the left-hand pattern, it did so from runway 10, with a distance of less than 1 nautical mile covered in just 23 seconds. The left-hand pattern crosswind was also navigated with ease, taking 33 seconds to cover a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The pilot then executed a pattern downwind turn, which involved a 2-nautical-mile distance and an angle of 64.7 degrees to the runway.
The downwind leg of the pattern was completed in 83 seconds, covering a distance of 2 nautical miles. The pilot then turned onto the base leg, which involved a 2-nautical-mile distance and an angle of 44.3 degrees to the runway. The base leg itself was completed in 38 seconds, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The final turn was executed in 30 seconds, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile.
The final approach to runway 10 was made from the west, with a heading of 98.0 degrees at 1 nautical mile and an altitude of 211 feet above ground level. The landing was smooth and controlled, with a touchdown distance of 93 meters and a touchdown speed of 53 knots. The touchdown rate was also smooth, at -121 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good.
The local weather conditions remained favorable throughout the landing, with a temperature of 16 degrees Celsius and a gentle wind of 2 knots at 270 degrees. The aircraft used a total of 3 kilograms of fuel for the flight, which covered a distance of 8 nautical miles and took 6 minutes to complete.
The Cessna C172 aircraft successfully landed at LSZR Sankt Gallen Altenrhein Airport, achieving a remarkable score of 99.8%. The final approach to runway 10 was executed from the west, with the aircraft heading 98.0° at a distance of 1 nautical mile and an altitude of 211 feet above ground level (agl).
The landing was carried out on a runway with a length of 1,322 meters, and the threshold height was reported as good. The threshold speed of 59 knots was also satisfactory, indicating that the aircraft was properly configured for landing. The touchdown distance of 93 meters was within acceptable limits, and the touchdown speed of 53 knots was also good, suggesting a smooth and controlled descent.
The touchdown rate of -121 feet per minute (fpm) was smooth, indicating that the aircraft touched down without any significant impact or bounce. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, suggesting that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway centerline at the moment of touchdown.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 16°C and a wind speed of 2 knots from 270°. This resulted in a negligible crosswind component of 0 knots and a slight tailwind of 2 knots, which did not pose any significant challenges to the landing. Overall, the landing was executed with precision and control, resulting in a high score of 99.8%.
