Work on the flare
See Arrival Landing
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,954 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,954 m of the 2,901 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 643 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Charles de Gaulle International Airport (LFPG) in Paris, France, the Boeing 777-300 began its journey by taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 10 minutes and covered a distance of 4 nautical miles. Upon reaching runway 09R, the aircraft initiated its departure roll, accelerating down the 1,619-meter runway, which represented 45% of its total length. At a liftoff speed of 183 knots, the aircraft successfully lifted off into the air, with a local temperature of 11°C and a wind speed of 6 knots from a direction of 49°.
As the aircraft climbed to its initial cruising altitude, it passed over Le Mesnil-Amelot, Ile-de-France, France, and continued to ascend to 29,987 feet above sea level. The enroute climb phase was characterized by a series of level cruises and subsequent climbs, with the aircraft reaching a maximum altitude of 35,990 feet above sea level. The total enroute climb phase covered a distance of 95 nautical miles and took 14 minutes to complete. The aircraft then entered a series of level cruises, with the longest lasting 176 minutes and covering a distance of 1,324 nautical miles.
As the aircraft began its descent into Los Angeles International Airport (KLAX), it initiated a steep descent from 38,000 feet above sea level to 1,399 feet above sea level, a decrease of 36,601 feet in 28 minutes. The final approach to runway 06R was executed from the west, with a heading of 83.0° and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the threshold. The aircraft landed safely on the runway, with a touchdown point 226 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The total landing distance was 1,873 meters, representing 65% of the runway length. Following a smooth rollout, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, completing its journey of 5,031 nautical miles in 678 minutes, with a total fuel consumption of 88,397 kilograms.
The Boeing 777-300 touched down on runway 06R at KLAX Los Angeles International Airport with a satisfactory approach quality, demonstrating good control and precision throughout the descent. The aircraft maintained a heading of 83.0° as it descended from 4 nautical miles away, at an altitude of 1,247 feet above ground level. The good threshold height and speed of 147 knots at touchdown indicated a well-executed approach.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed of 143 knots was slightly above the desired threshold speed, resulting in a fair touchdown rate of -224 feet per minute. However, the touchdown point was 226 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which was not ideal. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, with the aircraft centered on the runway. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 17°C and a 3-knot headwind, did not significantly impact the landing.
The total landing distance of 1,873 meters, which accounted for 65% of the runway length, was within acceptable limits. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, with the aircraft maintaining its centerline alignment throughout the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was considered satisfactory, with a score of 95.6%.
