Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,578 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,578 m of the 2,620 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 724 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The aircraft taxied from the parking area to runway 12L at KMSP Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport, covering 2 nm in 6 minutes.
During the departure roll on runway 12L the aircraft used 1,029 m, representing 41 % of the runway, and lifted off at 145 kt. Local weather was temperature 20 °C, wind 3 kt from 110°, with a 1 kt crosswind and a 3 kt headwind.
En-route climb commenced 1 mile east of KMSP, climbing from 1,812 ft asl to 36,987 ft asl - an increase of 35,175 ft - in 23 minutes while covering 163 nm.
The subsequent level cruise began 5 miles north-east of Mercer, Wisconsin, and lasted 26 minutes, covering 202 nm.
A further climb started 12 miles south of CYSP Marathon Airport, raising altitude from 37,000 ft asl to 38,943 ft asl - an increase of 1,943 ft - in 5 minutes over 39 nm.
The next cruise segment originated 11 miles south-east of CYMG Manitouwadge Airport, lasting 141 minutes and covering 1,205 nm.
A third climb began at latitude 56.6777347, longitude -54.6953286, ascending from 39,404 ft asl to 40,986 ft asl - an increase of 1,582 ft - in 3 minutes while traveling 30 nm.
The following cruise started at latitude 56.65628, longitude -53.7508876, persisted for 172 minutes and covered 1,521 nm.
Descent commenced 4 miles east of Killala, Ireland, descending from 41,000 ft asl to 8,263 ft asl - a decrease of 32,737 ft - in 17 minutes across 123 nm.
A short cruise followed 11 miles north-east of Loughshinny, lasting 8 minutes and covering 27 nm.
Another descent began 17 miles north-east of Greystones, Ireland, dropping from 7,986 ft asl to 1,513 ft asl - a decrease of 6,473 ft - in 10 minutes over 23 nm.
Final approach to runway 28L at EIDW Dublin Airport involved a descent from 1,340 ft agl to 117 ft agl in 111 seconds, with the aircraft scoring on the stabilisation gates.
Landing on runway 28L, which is 2,620 m long, the threshold height at 66 ft agl was above target and the threshold speed of 148 kt was well above target. Touchdown occurred 301 m beyond the touchdown zone at a speed of 131 kt, with a touchdown rate of minus 199 fpm and perfect runway-touchdown alignment. Local weather reported temperature 20 °C, wind 3 kt from 220°, a 2 kt crosswind and a 2 kt headwind.
Runway rollout covered a total landing distance of 1,490 m, representing 57 % of the runway, with rollout alignment described as perfect.
In total, the flight covered 3,341 nm, taking 411, and consumed 45,996 kg of fuel.
The Boeing 777-200ER completed the final approach to runway 28L at Dublin Airport with a stabilised profile at the 1,000 ft gate; gear, flaps, sink rate, glideslope, centreline and speed were all within limits. The aircraft descended from 1,340 ft agl to 117 ft agl in 111 seconds, maintaining the required parameters throughout the approach.
At the threshold the aircraft was 66 ft agl, which was above the target height, and the threshold speed was well above target at 148 kt. Local conditions were 20 °C temperature, wind 3 kt from 220°, with a 2 kt cross-wind component and a 2 kt head-wind component.
Touchdown occurred 301 m beyond the touchdown zone, with a speed of 131 kt that was recorded as good and a vertical rate of -199 fpm also judged good. Runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the total landing distance measured 1,490 m, representing 57 % of the 2,620 m runway.
Rollout alignment remained perfect for the remainder of the ground run, concluding the landing sequence without deviation.
Minor refinement of the threshold phase is advised: adjust the descent profile to achieve the target height of 66 ft agl and moderate the approach speed to meet the intended threshold speed, which will further optimise the already high 96.5 % landing score.
