Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 7,354 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 980 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 02 at KCDC Cedar City Regional Airport. The aircraft, Sirius, took off with a takeoff distance of 645 feet, which was 7% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 57 knots. At the time of departure, the local weather conditions were a temperature of 35°F and a wind speed of 15 knots at 349°, resulting in a crosswind of 11 knots and a headwind of 11 knots.
As the aircraft climbed, it started its enroute climb overhead KCDC Cedar City Regional Airport, rising from an altitude of 5,863 feet above sea level to 10,926 feet above sea level, an increase of 5,063 feet in 11 minutes, covering a distance of 14 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise then began 9 miles northwest of 2UT2 High Meadow Ranch Airport, lasting 11 minutes and covering 18 nautical miles.
The aircraft then started its enroute descent 4 miles northwest of UT26 Bryce Woodland Estates Airport, descending from 11,038 feet above sea level to 10,329 feet above sea level, a decrease of 709 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 4 nautical miles. Following the descent, the aircraft entered another enroute level cruise 5 miles northeast of UT26 Bryce Woodland Estates Airport, lasting 9 minutes and covering 8 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 03 at KBCE Bryce Canyon Airport was made from the southwest, heading 52.0° at 2 nautical miles and 538 feet above ground level. The landing was successful, with a touchdown distance of 970 feet, which was 31% of the runway. The touchdown speed was 49 knots, and the touchdown rate was excellent at -81 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 25°F and a wind speed of 9 knots at 0°, resulting in a crosswind of 7 knots and a headwind of 6 knots. The total landing distance was 2,245 feet, and the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 42 feet from the centreline. The total flight distance was 46 nautical miles, taking 36 minutes, and the aircraft used 15 pounds of fuel.
The Sirius aircraft successfully landed at KBCE Bryce Canyon Airport, achieving a high score of 92.9%. The final approach to runway 03 was conducted from the southwest, heading 52.0° at 2 nautical miles and 538 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft demonstrated good control and precision during the approach, ultimately landing safely on the runway.
The landing was executed with a good threshold height, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 53 knots. The touchdown distance of 970 feet was within acceptable limits, and the touchdown speed of 49 knots was also good. The most impressive aspect of the landing was the touchdown rate, which was an excellent -81 feet per minute (fpm). This indicates that the aircraft touched down smoothly and with minimal impact.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 25°F and a wind speed of 9 knots at 0°. The crosswind component was 7 knots, while the headwind component was 6 knots. These conditions did not appear to have any significant impact on the landing, as the aircraft maintained good control and alignment throughout the approach.
However, there was a slight deviation in the runway rollout alignment, with the aircraft being 42 feet off-centerline. This was the only notable issue with the landing, and it did not appear to have any significant impact on the overall safety or performance of the aircraft. The total landing distance of 2,245 feet was 31% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight.
Overall, the Sirius aircraft demonstrated excellent landing skills and precision during this exercise, achieving a high score of 92.9%. The only minor issue with the landing was the slight deviation in the runway rollout alignment, but this did not appear to have any significant impact on the overall performance of the aircraft.
