Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,496 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 540 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking area to the runway, which took approximately 8 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 32 at EGNM Leeds Bradford Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,381 meters, which accounted for 83% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 160 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 5 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 13 knots at a direction of 279 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 8 knots and a headwind of 10 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, which started overhead Yeadon, a city located in the Borough of Leeds, England. The climb took the aircraft from an altitude of 1,645 feet above sea level to 35,111 feet above sea level, an increase of 33,466 feet, in 21 minutes and covering a distance of 134 nautical miles.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which began 7 miles north-east of Sea Palling, a town located in Norfolk, England. This phase of the flight lasted for 67 minutes and covered a distance of 543 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its enroute descent, which began 4 miles east of Kamieniec, a town located in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, Poland. The descent took the aircraft from an altitude of 34,631 feet above sea level to 1,618 feet above sea level, a decrease of 33,013 feet, in 33 minutes and covering a distance of 155 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 26 at EPMO Modlin Airport was made from the east, with a heading of 261.0 degrees at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,263 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 26, which had a length of 2,496 meters. The threshold height at 63 feet above ground level was above the target, and the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 153 knots.
The touchdown point was 125 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 143 knots, which was a little fast. However, the touchdown rate was excellent at -93 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 6.2 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 3 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 8 knots at a direction of 240 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 3 knots and a headwind of 7 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,429 meters, which accounted for 57% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking area took approximately 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 839 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 132 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 5,109 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at EPMO Modlin Airport, achieving a score of 95.5%. The final approach to runway 26 was initiated from the east, heading 261.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,263 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft's approach was conducted in a manner that adhered to the standard procedures, with the pilot maintaining a steady heading and altitude throughout the descent.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway at a speed of 143 knots, which was slightly above the target speed. However, the touchdown rate of -93 feet per minute (fpm) was excellent, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. The touchdown point was located 125 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, which may have been due to the pilot's decision to extend the landing distance to ensure a safe and stable touchdown.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were characterized by a temperature of 3°C and a wind speed of 8 knots from a direction of 240°. The crosswind component was minimal at 3 knots, while the headwind component was 7 knots. These conditions did not appear to have a significant impact on the landing, as the aircraft maintained a stable approach and touchdown.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 6.2 meters, which may have been due to the pilot's decision to align the aircraft with the runway centerline during the final approach. However, the runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase.
The total landing distance of 1,429 meters was 57% of the available runway length, which is a relatively short landing distance. This suggests that the pilot was able to maintain a high level of control and precision during the landing, even in the presence of a slight crosswind component. Overall, the landing was successful, and the pilot's skills and experience were evident throughout the approach and touchdown phases.
