Improve the pattern downwind leg
Spacing cues are relative to your eyepoint, so two simmers with different FOV settings following the same wingtip cue fly patterns half a mile different in width, and a wide FOV compresses depth so the runway on base looks further away than it is, biasing you towards a late turn. Pick a camera position and FOV, save it, and never change it, because every judgement you calibrate is calibrated to that picture.

One stabilised approach gate for a circuit: six checks at the point nearest 500 ft above the runway after the base turn. The 1,000 ft gate is an instrument-approach check and does not apply.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,490 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 318 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Groningen Airport Eelde, the Sting S4 aircraft initiated its takeoff roll on runway 05, accelerating to a liftoff speed of 43 kt within 732 meters, which accounted for 29% of the runway's length. The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 15 °C and a gentle wind of 1 kt from 270°, resulting in a negligible crosswind component. As the aircraft lifted off, it began its climb, eventually entering a right-hand traffic pattern.
The Sting S4 aircraft executed a smooth right-hand pattern entry from runway 05, completing the maneuver in less than 1 nm in 18 seconds. Subsequent turns, including the downwind turn with an angle of 97.1° to the runway, were also executed with precision. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 23, descending from a height of 233 ft agl at a heading of 231.0°. The pilot maintained a steady speed, slightly above the target threshold speed of 55 kt, and touched down on the runway with a speed of 31 kt, resulting in a touchdown distance of 321 m. The touchdown rate was also within optimal limits at -38 fpm.
The aircraft's performance during the landing phase was commendable, with a total landing distance of 395 m, accounting for 16% of the runway's length. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, indicating a high degree of control and precision during the landing phase. The total flight distance was 11 nm, and the aircraft utilized 0 kg of fuel, suggesting an efficient flight profile. Overall, the flight demonstrated a high level of proficiency and adherence to standard operating procedures.
The final approach to runway 23 at EHGG Groningen Airport Eelde from the north east was executed with precision, with the aircraft maintaining a heading of 231.0° at 0 nm and 233 ft above ground level. The approach quality was excellent, with a good threshold height achieved. However, the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 55 kt, indicating a slight deviation from the ideal approach speed.
As the aircraft touched down on the runway, the touchdown distance was good at 321 m, and the touchdown speed of 31 kt was within the acceptable range. The touchdown rate of -38 fpm was perfect, demonstrating a smooth and controlled descent. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, with the aircraft centered on the runway. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 15 °C and a wind of 1 kt at 270°, contributed to a relatively calm and stable environment for the landing.
The total landing distance of 395 m, which accounted for 16% of the runway length, was well within the acceptable range. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, with the aircraft maintaining its centerline alignment throughout the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was executed with high precision and control, resulting in a score of 99.0%.
