Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,576 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,576 m of the 3,040 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 539 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft, an Airbus A321, taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. This process took 8 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 07L, with the aircraft taking off after a short distance of 237 meters, which accounted for 8% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 158 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of 37 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 3 knots at 170 degrees. The crosswind was 3 knots, while the headwind was 1 knot. The enroute climb began shortly after departure, 1 mile east of the airport, and continued for 11 minutes as the aircraft ascended from 2,139 feet above sea level to 35,027 feet. This climb covered a distance of 172 nautical miles.
Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which lasted for 24 minutes and covered a distance of 814 nautical miles. This phase began 3 miles southeast of Steamboat, Arizona. The enroute descent started 4 miles southwest of Balaton, Minnesota, and lasted for 16 minutes as the aircraft descended from 34,812 feet to 2,124 feet. This descent covered a distance of 120 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 12R at Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport was made from the northwest, with the aircraft heading at 121.0 degrees at an altitude of 1,282 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway. The landing took place on a runway with a length of 3,040 meters, and the threshold height was good. The threshold speed was also satisfactory at 142 knots.
The touchdown point was 124 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 133 knots, which was slightly faster than desired. However, the touchdown rate was fair at -210 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, and the runway rollout alignment was perfect. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 15 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 6 knots at 110 degrees. The crosswind was 1 knot, while the headwind was 5 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,496 meters, which accounted for 49% of the runway. The taxiing to the parking area from the runway took just 1 minute and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 1,115 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 60 minutes. The aircraft used 6,627 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A321 successfully landed at Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (KMSP) on runway 12R, achieving a high score of 98.9%. The aircraft approached the runway from the northwest, heading 121.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,282 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was executed with good control, and the aircraft touched down on the runway with a threshold speed of 142 knots, which was within the acceptable range.
The touchdown point was located 124 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, indicating a slight deviation from the ideal landing spot. However, the touchdown speed of 133 knots was slightly higher than the recommended speed, resulting in a touchdown rate of -210 feet per minute (fpm), which was considered fair. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway during the landing.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 15°C and a wind speed of 6 knots from a direction of 110°. The crosswind component was minimal at 1 knot, while the headwind component was 5 knots, which helped to reduce the landing distance. The total landing distance was 1,496 meters, which accounted for 49% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, considering the aircraft's size and weight.
The runway rollout alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft's brakes were applied smoothly and effectively, allowing the aircraft to come to a stop without any deviations from the centerline. Overall, the landing was executed with good control and precision, resulting in a high score of 98.9%.
