Improve the pattern downwind leg
The 45-degrees-behind-the-wing cue assumes you can turn your head and use peripheral vision. Downwind spacing cues like "put the wingtip halfway up the strut" assume a fixed, known eyepoint. Neither survives a monitor unmodified. If you fly on a fixed monitor, stop pretending and fly a numbers-based circuit.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate for a circuit: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate is an instrument-approach check and does not apply.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,814 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 285 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight in the Piper PA-24-250 Comanche started with a departure roll on runway 05 at EGPE Inverness. The takeoff distance was 102 meters, which accounted for 6% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 64 knots. The local weather at the time of departure included a temperature of 16 °C and a wind of 1 knot coming from 270°, with a crosswind of 1 knot and a tailwind of 1 knot.
After takeoff, the pilot made a left-hand pattern entry from runway 05 at EGPE Inverness, covering a distance of less than 1 nm in 12 seconds. This was followed by a left-hand pattern crosswind from the same runway, with a distance of less than 1 nm covered in 16 seconds. The flight then included a pattern downwind turn, covering a distance of 1 nm with an angle to the runway of 101.5°. The pattern downwind leg extended to 2 nm and took 56 seconds to complete. The pattern base leg turn covered a distance of 1 nm with an angle to the runway of 10.6°.
The landing took place on runway 05 at EGPE Inverness, which has a length of 1,814 meters. The height at the threshold was 14 feet above ground level, and the speed at the threshold was 58 knots. The touchdown occurred 282 meters from the threshold, with a touchdown speed of 39 knots and a vertical speed indicator (VSI) reading of -58 ft/min. The local weather at the time of landing included a temperature of 15 °C and a wind of 1 knot coming from 270°, with a crosswind of 1 knot and a tailwind of 1 knot.
Overall, the total flight distance covered was 5 nm, with the flight taking 825 seconds to complete. The aircraft used 2 kg of fuel during the flight.
Congratulations on an outstanding aircraft landing score of 98.7%! Your performance throughout the approach, landing, and touchdown phases of the landing was truly exceptional.
During the Approach Phase, your glideslope alignment was excellent, demonstrating your ability to maintain the correct trajectory towards the runway. While your speed was slightly below target, this is a minor detail that can easily be improved upon with continued practice and focus. Your ability to maintain proper glideslope alignment is a crucial skill that greatly contributed to your overall successful landing.
Moving on to the Landing Phase, you displayed excellent skill in determining the proper threshold height for landing. Additionally, your flawless landing flare indicates a high level of proficiency in executing this critical maneuver. A perfect landing flare is essential for ensuring a smooth and controlled touchdown, and your performance in this phase is a testament to your skill and precision as a pilot.
Finally, during the Touchdown Phase, your touchdown rate was outstanding, reflecting your ability to accurately time and execute the landing. It is particularly impressive that your landing speed was on target, further highlighting your proficiency in controlling the aircraft during this crucial phase. Additionally, the fact that your touchdown distance was inside the designated touchdown zone is a clear indicator of your precision and attention to detail in ensuring a safe and controlled landing.
Furthermore, your runway touchdown position being 3.4m from the centerline demonstrates your ability to maintain proper alignment with the runway, further contributing to the overall success of your landing.
Overall, your exceptional performance throughout each phase of the landing process is a testament to your skill, dedication, and attention to detail as a pilot. With continued practice and focus on maintaining proper speed and alignment, you have the potential to further improve and strive for even higher scores in future landings. Keep up the great work, and continue to hone your skills to achieve even greater success in your future flights.
