Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,827 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,827 m of the 2,906 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 823 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 20 at SPRU Carlos Martinez De Pinillos International Airport. The Boeing 777-300 took off with a takeoff distance of 757 meters, which accounted for 31% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 160 knots, and the aircraft climbed away from the airport.
As the aircraft climbed, it encountered local weather conditions of 21 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 5 knots at 139 degrees. The crosswind component was 4 knots, while the headwind component was 3 knots. The enroute climb started approximately 1 mile south of the airport and continued for 13 minutes, covering a distance of 86 nautical miles. During this time, the aircraft climbed from an altitude of 1,002 feet above sea level to 33,041 feet above sea level, an increase of 32,039 feet.
After reaching the desired cruising altitude, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which lasted for 7 minutes and covered a distance of 55 nautical miles. This phase started approximately 16 miles southeast of SPEO FAP Lieutenant Jaime Andres de Montreuil Morales Airport Chimbote.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its descent from 33,040 feet above sea level to 1,322 feet above sea level. This descent phase lasted for 20 minutes and covered a distance of 114 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered the final approach phase, heading towards runway 16 at SPJC Jorge Chavez Intl from the northwest.
The final approach was conducted at a heading of 154.0 degrees, 4 nautical miles from the runway, and at an altitude of 1,244 feet above ground level. The aircraft landed on runway 16, which had a length of 2,906 meters. The threshold height was above the target, but the threshold speed was good at 142 knots.
The touchdown point was 411 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 135 knots, which was considered good. The touchdown rate was smooth at -102 feet per minute. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.1 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 22 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 6 knots at 160 degrees, with a crosswind component of 1 knot and a headwind component of 6 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,750 meters, which accounted for 60% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area from the runway, taking approximately 1 minute and covering less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 263 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 50 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 6,560 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 777-300 aircraft successfully landed at SPJC Jorge Chavez International Airport, with a final approach score of 90.7%. The aircraft was approaching the runway from the northwest, heading 154.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,244 feet above ground level (agl).
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on runway 16, which has a length of 2,906 meters. The threshold height at 61 feet agl was above the target, indicating that the aircraft was slightly higher than desired at the point of touchdown. However, the threshold speed was good at 142 knots, indicating that the aircraft was at the correct speed for landing.
The touchdown point was 411 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which is slightly further down the runway than desired. The touchdown speed of 135 knots was good, and the touchdown rate of -102 feet per minute (fpm) was smooth, indicating a controlled descent. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.1 meters from the centerline, which may require some adjustments to the aircraft's alignment during future landings.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 22°C and a wind speed of 6 knots at 160°. The crosswind component was minimal at 1 knot, while the headwind component was 6 knots, which helped to stabilize the aircraft during landing.
The total landing distance was 1,750 meters, which is 60% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating that the aircraft was able to touch down and come to a stop quickly. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was able to maintain its alignment and direction during the rollout phase of the landing.
Overall, the landing was successful, with the aircraft touching down safely and coming to a stop within a reasonable distance. However, there were some minor deviations from the desired touchdown point and alignment, which may require some adjustments to the aircraft's approach and landing procedures.
