Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,977 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 409 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 22 minutes and covered a distance of 7 nautical miles. The aircraft, an Airbus A320, then departed from runway 07C at Frankfurt Airport (EDDF), with a takeoff distance of 1,234 meters, which accounted for 31% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 167 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions of 6°C temperature and a wind speed of 8 knots at 50 degrees. The crosswind was 3 knots, while the headwind was 8 knots. After departing from Frankfurt, the aircraft began its enroute climb, which started overhead the airport and reached an altitude of 29,864 feet above sea level. This climb, which covered a distance of 81 nautical miles, took 13 minutes and involved an increase of 28,505 feet in altitude.
Following the initial climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 2 miles south-west of Forbach, Germany. This phase lasted for 9 minutes and covered a distance of 132 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, which started 4 miles north of Formazza, Italy. This descent, which covered a distance of 81 nautical miles, took 15 minutes and involved a decrease of 25,181 feet in altitude.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started overhead Mede, Italy, and lasted for 9 minutes, covering a distance of 19 nautical miles. Following this, the aircraft began its final descent, which started overhead Cerano, Italy. This descent, which covered a distance of 8 nautical miles, took 2 minutes and involved a decrease of 1,890 feet in altitude.
The final approach to runway 35R at Milan Malpensa International Airport (LIMC) was made from the south, with a heading of 349.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,250 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 35R, which had a length of 2,977 meters. The threshold height at 57 feet above ground level was slightly above the target, but the threshold speed was good at 134 knots.
The touchdown distance was good at 410 meters, but the touchdown speed at 130 knots was a little fast. The touchdown rate was fair at -225 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 11°C temperature and a wind speed of 4 knots at 100 degrees, with a crosswind of 3 knots and a tailwind of 1 knot.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking, which took 3 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 334 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 61 minutes. The aircraft used 720 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed on runway 35R at LIMC Milan Malpensa International Airport, achieving a score of 99.4%. The aircraft was approaching the runway from the south, heading 349.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,250 feet above ground level (agl).
The final approach was executed smoothly, with the aircraft touching down on the runway at a speed of 130 knots, which was slightly above the target speed. However, the touchdown distance of 410 meters was within the acceptable range, indicating a good landing performance. The runway touchdown alignment was also very good, suggesting that the pilot maintained a stable and controlled approach.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 11°C and a gentle wind of 4 knots from a direction of 100°. The crosswind component was minimal at 3 knots, and the tailwind component was negligible at 1 knot. These conditions likely contributed to the smooth landing performance.
The total landing distance of 1,032 meters was 35% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. This suggests that the pilot was able to maintain a high level of control and precision during the landing, resulting in a short and efficient rollout.
The runway rollout alignment was perfect, indicating that the pilot was able to maintain a stable and controlled deceleration after touchdown. Overall, the landing performance of the Airbus A320 on runway 35R at LIMC Milan Malpensa International Airport was excellent, with a score of 99.4% reflecting the high level of skill and precision demonstrated by the pilot.
