Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,208 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 660 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A320 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at SUMU Carrasco General Cesáreo L. Berisso International Airport, taking approximately 7 minutes to cover a distance of 2 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 19, with the aircraft lifting off after a takeoff distance of 983 meters, which accounted for 44% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 158 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of 25°C temperature and winds of 11 knots at 129 degrees. The crosswind was 8 knots, while the headwind was 7 knots. The enroute climb began approximately 1 mile east of Paso de Carrasco, with the aircraft ascending from 1,029 feet above sea level to 34,450 feet above sea level, an increase of 33,421 feet in 13 minutes, covering a distance of 85 nautical miles.
Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 1 mile south of Florencio Sanchez and lasted for 22 minutes, covering a distance of 281 nautical miles. The enroute descent began 11 miles southwest of SA83 San Francisco, with the aircraft descending from 34,573 feet above sea level to 2,894 feet above sea level, a decrease of 31,680 feet in 15 minutes, covering a distance of 103 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 19 at SACO Ingeniero Ambrosio Taravella Airport was made from the north, with the aircraft heading 179.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,327 feet above ground level. The landing took place on runway 19, which had a length of 3,208 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 122 knots.
The touchdown point was 236 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 111 knots, which was considered good. The touchdown rate was fair at -258 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the runway rollout alignment was also perfect. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 21°C temperature and winds of 11 knots at 159 degrees, with a crosswind of 4 knots and a headwind of 10 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,006 meters, which accounted for 31% of the runway. The taxiing to the parking area from the runway took approximately 2 minutes, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 477 nautical miles, taking 63 minutes, and the aircraft used 1,464 kilograms of fuel.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed at SACO Ingeniero Ambrosio Taravella Airport, achieving a score of 97.0%. The aircraft approached the runway from the north, heading 179.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,327 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was executed with precision, and the aircraft landed on runway 19, which has a length of 3,208 meters.
The threshold height was reported as good, indicating that the aircraft was at the correct altitude as it approached the runway. However, the threshold speed was slightly above the target speed of 122 knots, which may have been due to various factors such as wind resistance or the aircraft's weight. Despite this, the touchdown speed of 111 knots was within the acceptable range, and the touchdown rate of -258 feet per minute (fpm) was fair.
The touchdown point was 236 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which is a relatively short distance. This suggests that the aircraft's landing was smooth and controlled. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was aligned with the runway centerline at the moment of touchdown. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 21°C and a wind speed of 11 knots at 159°, contributed to a relatively calm landing environment.
The crosswind component was minimal at 4 knots, while the headwind component was 10 knots. These conditions likely helped to stabilize the aircraft's approach and landing. The total landing distance of 1,006 meters was 31% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance. This indicates that the aircraft's landing was efficient and controlled.
Finally, the runway rollout alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft's brakes were applied smoothly and evenly, and the aircraft came to a stop in a stable and controlled manner. Overall, the Airbus A320's landing at SACO Ingeniero Ambrosio Taravella Airport was a successful and efficient operation, with a score of 97.0%.
