Keep the approach speed on target
Every knot above Vref is stored kinetic energy, and energy stored at the threshold must be dissipated in ground effect before the aeroplane will stop flying. Because kinetic energy scales with the square of speed, the excess you must dissipate grows fast. At a 45-knot approach, five knots hot is over a tenth more speed and roughly a quarter more energy to get rid of in ground effect. This is why the fix is never in the flare. It was decided three miles earlier, on final, at the airspeed indicator.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 580 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 580 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 47 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Fantastic job on the aircraft landing with a score of 95.3%! Let's break down your performance in each phase of the landing.
In the Approach Phase, you maintained a descent path below the glideslope limit and your speed was well below target. While it's important to ensure you are descending correctly, be mindful not to stall the aircraft with such low speeds.
Moving on to the Landing Phase, you had a good threshold height and executed an excellent landing flare. This shows that you have a good understanding of the aircraft's dynamics during the landing process.
During the Touchdown Phase, your touchdown rate was perfect, and your speed was right on target. Additionally, you managed to touch down within the designated touchdown zone and runway touchdown position was very good. This level of precision is impressive and speaks to your proficiency as a pilot.
Lastly, in the Rollout Phase, your runway alignment was very good, further demonstrating your skill in maintaining control of the aircraft during the post-landing phase.
Overall, you should be proud of your performance during this landing. Keep up the great work and continue to focus on honing your skills to maintain such high scores in future landings. Well done!
