MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Shorten the long landing
Ground effect becomes significant below about one wingspan of height. A Cessna 172, with a 36 ft span, enters ground effect at flare height - the float it feels in the hold-off is ground effect arriving on cue. An A320, with a span around 117 ft, has been in ground effect since before the threshold and there is no sudden cushion to feel, only a gradual reduction in induced drag that lengthens any float you allow.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,180 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,180 ft of the 9,830 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 3,127 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
First of all, congratulations on completing the aircraft landing with a score of 77.2%! While there were some areas for improvement, it's important to acknowledge the effort that went into successfully landing the aircraft.
In the Approach Phase, it's noted that the descent path was above the glideslope limit. This can be addressed by ensuring a more precise descent profile in future landings. Additionally, focusing on maintaining the correct altitude and speed during approach will contribute to a smoother overall landing.
During the Landing Phase, the threshold height was significantly over target and the landing flare was deemed very poor. Working on improving these aspects, such as making adjustments to the approach angle and timing the flare more effectively, will aid in achieving a smoother touchdown in future landings.
In the Touchdown Phase, it's highlighted that the touchdown rate was hard and the speed was slightly above target. Additionally, the touchdown point was beyond the designated zone and the runway touchdown position was off-center. These factors can be improved by practicing proper touchdown technique, adjusting approach speed, and ensuring alignment with the runway centerline.
Lastly, in the Rollout Phase, the runway alignment was off-center. Paying attention to maintaining alignment with the runway centerline during rollout will contribute to a more precise landing.
Overall, while there were areas that require attention, it's important to view this landing as a learning opportunity for growth and improvement. By focusing on refining approach, landing, touchdown, and rollout techniques, your future landings will undoubtedly show marked improvement. Keep up the good work and continue striving for excellence in your aviation skills!
