Improve the rollout
Ground control varies with speed, full authority at walking pace, progressively reducing as groundspeed rises. The aircraft becomes twitchy at any speed, every small pedal input swings the nose, which can encourage large-amplitude leg inputs that no real aircraft would accept.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,694 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,694 m of the 2,797 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 620 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 10 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, an Airbus A321, then departed from runway 30L at the Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (KMSP) in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The takeoff distance was 1,397 meters, which accounted for 46% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 161 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time of departure were a temperature of -5°C, with a wind speed of 5 knots at 280°.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb, which started overhead the Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport. The climb took 13 minutes and covered a distance of 141 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from 1,847 feet above sea level to 34,271 feet above sea level, an increase of 32,424 feet. The enroute climb was followed by a level cruise, which started 1 mile north of the Waterloo Regional Airport (KALO) in Waterloo, Iowa. This cruise phase lasted for 46 minutes and covered a distance of 1,186 nautical miles.
The enroute cruise was followed by a descent, which started 91 miles north of Rio Lagartos in the Estado de Yucatan, Mexico. The descent took 18 minutes and covered a distance of 137 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from 34,163 feet above sea level to 3,553 feet above sea level, a decrease of 30,610 feet. The descent was followed by a brief level cruise, which started 15 miles east of Solferino in the Estado de Quintana Roo, Mexico, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 8 nautical miles.
The final descent started 11 miles west of Cancun in the Estado de Quintana Roo, Mexico, and took 3 minutes to descend from 3,013 feet above sea level to 1,311 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,702 feet. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 12L at the Cancun International Airport (MMUN), flying from the northwest at a heading of 124.0° and at an altitude of 1,283 feet above ground level.
The landing was made on runway 12L, which had a length of 2,797 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also good at 142 knots. The touchdown point was 204 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 133 knots, which was good. However, the touchdown rate was fair at -221 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was significantly misaligned by 15.8 meters from the centerline, and the runway rollout alignment was also misaligned by 15.5 meters from the centerline.
The total landing distance was 1,614 meters, which accounted for 58% of the runway. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 27°C, with a wind speed of 4 knots at 80°. The crosswind was 2 knots, and the headwind was 3 knots. After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, which took 2 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 1,489 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 96 minutes. The aircraft used 9,893 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A321 successfully landed at MMUN Aeropuerto Internacional de Cancún, achieving a score of 90.8%. The aircraft approached the runway from the north-west, heading 124.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,283 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was executed with good threshold height and threshold speed, reaching 142 knots.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft landed 204 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 133 knots, which was considered good. However, the touchdown rate was fair at -221 feet per minute (fpm). The runway touchdown position was significantly misaligned by 15.8 meters from the centerline, indicating a slight deviation from the intended path.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 27°C and a gentle wind of 4 knots at 80°. The crosswind component was minimal at 2 knots, while the headwind component was 3 knots. The total landing distance was 1,614 meters, which accounted for 58% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was also misaligned by 15.5 meters from the centerline, suggesting that the aircraft may have experienced some difficulties in maintaining a straight course during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft achieving a good touchdown speed and a relatively short landing distance. However, the misalignment of the touchdown position and the runway rollout alignment may indicate some room for improvement in terms of pilot technique and aircraft handling.
