Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 2,100 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 2,100 m of the 3,095 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 550 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Boeing 737-600 taxied from the parking area to runway 06 at HKJK Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. The taxi-out required 4 minutes and covered 1 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 06, the aircraft accelerated to a liftoff speed of 132 kt. The takeoff distance recorded was 1,072 m, representing 26 % of the runway length. Ambient conditions were a temperature of 23 °C, wind 6 kt from 100°, with a 4 kt crosswind component and a 4 kt headwind.
Climb commenced overhead HKJK, with the airplane ascending from 6,284 ft asl to 40,968 ft asl, an increase of 34,684 ft achieved in 39 minutes while covering 300 nm.
Level cruise began 17 miles west of HKWF Wajir Airport and continued for 85 minutes, during which 667 nm were flown.
Descent started 27 miles north-east of AG03 Amphibious Ready Group - Gulf of Aden. The aircraft descended from 40,901 ft asl to 1,287 ft asl, a loss of 39,614 ft in 11 minutes, covering 63 nm.
The final approach to runway 08 at OYAA Aden International Airport was executed from the west, on a heading of 78.0°, at 4 nm and 1,265 ft agl.
Landing on runway 08, which is 3,100 m long, occurred with a threshold speed of 125 kt. Touchdown was recorded 132 m beyond the touchdown zone at a speed of 114 kt, with a touchdown rate of minus 129 fpm. The touchdown point was offset 6.7 m from the centreline. Local weather at the time was a temperature of 32 °C, wind 2 kt from 60°, with a 1 kt crosswind and a 2 kt headwind.
The rollout distance measured 2,018 m, equivalent to 65 % of the runway, and alignment during rollout was described as very good.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, a movement that took 1 minute and covered less than 1 nm.
In total, the flight covered 1,037 nm, took 143 minutes, and consumed 5,843 kg of fuel.
The Boeing 737-600 entered final approach to runway 08 at OYAA Aden International Airport from the west on a heading of 78.0° at 4 NM and 1,265 ft agl. The approach was assessed as stabilised at the 1,000 ft gate, with gear, flaps, sink rate, glideslope and centreline all within limits.
During the threshold and flare phase the runway presented a good threshold height and the threshold speed was good at 125 kt. The aircraft continued the flare without deviation from the expected profile.
Touchdown occurred 132 m beyond the touchdown zone with a speed of 114 kt, which was judged good, and a smooth vertical rate of -129 fpm. The touchdown point was slightly misaligned by 6.7 m from the centreline.
Rollout used a total landing distance of 2,018 m, representing 65 % of the 3,100 m runway, and runway rollout alignment was very good.
Maintain the aim point approximately 300 m (1,000 ft) down the runway and refine lateral control to keep the touchdown point closer to centreline, reducing the 6.7 m offset observed.
