Shorten the long landing
Ground effect becomes significant below about one wingspan of height. A Cessna 172, with a 36 ft span, enters ground effect at flare height - the float it feels in the hold-off is ground effect arriving on cue. An A320, with a span around 117 ft, has been in ground effect since before the threshold and there is no sudden cushion to feel, only a gradual reduction in induced drag that lengthens any float you allow.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,701 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,701 m of the 2,914 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 463 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Congratulations on achieving a stellar aircraft landing score of 98.9%! Your performance in each phase of the landing process was remarkable and demonstrates your exceptional skills as a pilot.
During the Approach Phase, your glideslope alignment was excellent, allowing for a smooth transition into the Landing Phase. Your ability to maintain precision during this critical phase is commendable and sets the foundation for a successful landing.
Moving on to the Landing Phase, your technique was top-notch with a good threshold height and an excellent landing flare. These factors contributed to a controlled and stable descent, ensuring a safe touchdown on the runway.
While the Touchdown Phase saw a firm touchdown rate and a slightly higher speed than the target, your handling of the aircraft was still impressive. The touchdown point being 53 m beyond the touchdown zone is a minor deviation that can be improved upon with practice. Additionally, the runway touchdown position being 4.5 m from the centreline shows a need for slight adjustments in alignment.
Lastly, the Rollout Phase saw a runway alignment deviation of 4.3 m from the centreline. This can be refined through continued practice and focus on maintaining straight trajectory during the rollout.
Overall, your performance during the landing was exceptional, with only minor areas for improvement. Keep up the great work and continue to hone your skills to achieve even higher scores in the future. Your dedication to excellence is evident, and I have no doubt that you will continue to succeed in your aviation endeavors. Great job!
