Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 3,852 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the full 3,852 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 655 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 28 at KHTH Hawthorne Industrial Airport in Hawthorne, Nevada. The aircraft, a Cessna 208B, took off with a takeoff distance of 3,703 feet, which was 62% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 99 knots, and the local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of 69°F and a wind speed of 8 knots from 180°.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it reached an altitude of 16,397 feet above sea level, an increase of 11,994 feet from the initial altitude of 4,403 feet. This climb took 17 minutes and covered a distance of 34 nautical miles. The enroute climb started overhead the airport, and the aircraft then transitioned into a level cruise.
The level cruise lasted for 77 minutes and covered a distance of 245 nautical miles. During this phase, the aircraft flew 15 miles south of Gabbs, Nevada. Following the level cruise, the aircraft began its descent, which started 17 miles south of 56KN DOCILF Knolls in Utah. The descent took 11 minutes and covered a distance of 33 nautical miles, with the aircraft losing 8,753 feet in altitude from 16,455 feet to 7,702 feet.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 1 mile northwest of 60GR DOCILF Grantsville in Utah. This phase lasted for 7 minutes and covered a distance of 17 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent, which started overhead RB36 Great Salt Lake Salt Lake City in Utah. The descent took 2 minutes and covered a distance of 5 nautical miles, with the aircraft losing 1,271 feet in altitude from 7,786 feet to 6,516 feet.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 3 miles northwest of KSLC Salt Lake City International Airport in Utah. This phase lasted for 7 minutes and covered a distance of 7 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 17 at KBTF Skypark Airport, flying from the north at a heading of 186.0° and at an altitude of 1,040 feet above ground level.
The landing was made on runway 17, which had a length of 3,852 feet. The threshold speed was slightly below the target speed at 59 knots, but the touchdown distance was good at 653 feet. The touchdown speed was also good at 52 knots, but the touchdown rate was hard at -404 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 15 feet from the centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 79°F and a wind speed of 7 knots from 219°. The crosswind was 5 knots, and the headwind was also 5 knots. The total landing distance was 1,594 feet, which was 41% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good, and the aircraft taxied to the parking area from the runway in less than 1 minute, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 345 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 125 minutes. The aircraft used 686 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Cessna 208B aircraft successfully landed at KBTF Skypark Airport, achieving a score of 95.8%. The final approach was conducted from the north, heading 186.0° at 2 nautical miles and 1,040 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft touched down on runway 17, which has a length of 3,852 feet.
The threshold height was reported as good, indicating that the aircraft was at the correct height as it approached the runway. However, the threshold speed was slightly below the target speed of 59 knots. Despite this, the touchdown distance of 653 feet was considered good, and the touchdown speed of 52 knots was also within acceptable limits.
However, the touchdown rate was reported as hard, with a rate of -404 feet per minute (fpm). This may indicate that the aircraft was experiencing a high rate of descent at the moment of touchdown, which could be a concern for safety. Additionally, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 15 feet from the centreline, which may require some adjustments to the aircraft's approach path.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 79°F and a wind speed of 7 knots from 219°. The crosswind component was 5 knots, while the headwind component was also 5 knots. These conditions were likely to have had a minimal impact on the aircraft's performance during the landing.
The total landing distance of 1,594 feet was 41% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance. This suggests that the aircraft was able to touch down and come to a stop within a reasonable distance. The runway rollout alignment was reported as very good, indicating that the aircraft was able to maintain its alignment with the runway centreline during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft achieving a good score of 95.8%. However, the hard touchdown rate and slightly misaligned touchdown position may require some attention to ensure that the aircraft is able to land safely and efficiently in the future.
