MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,838 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,838 m of the 3,692 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 523 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 6 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Cessna CJ4 Citation, then departed from runway 23 at UNEE Kemerovo Airport. The takeoff distance was 982 meters, which accounted for 31% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 20 knots, and the local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of -4°C, with a wind speed of 12 knots at 210°.
As the aircraft took off, it began its enroute climb, which started 1 mile south west of UNEE Kemerovo Airport. The climb was from an initial altitude of 1,801 feet above sea level to a maximum altitude of 28,537 feet above sea level, an increase of 26,737 feet in just 8 minutes, covering a distance of 43 nautical miles. The climb was a significant portion of the flight, showcasing the aircraft's capabilities in terms of altitude gain.
Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 42 miles west of Belogorsk. This phase lasted for 25 minutes, during which the aircraft covered a distance of 100 nautical miles. The cruise phase was a period of steady flight, allowing the aircraft to maintain its altitude and speed.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its enroute descent, which started 18 miles north east of Uzhur. The descent was from a maximum altitude of 29,166 feet above sea level to a final altitude of 2,506 feet above sea level, a decrease of 26,660 feet in 18 minutes, covering a distance of 90 nautical miles. The descent was a critical phase of the flight, requiring precise control to ensure a safe and controlled landing.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 6 miles north west of Krasnoyarsk. This phase lasted for just 2 minutes, during which the aircraft covered a distance of 4 nautical miles. This brief cruise phase was a final adjustment before the aircraft began its final approach to the runway.
The final approach to runway 29 at UNKL Krasnoyarsk International Airport was from the south east, with a heading of 293.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,261 feet above ground level. The landing was on runway 29, which had a length of 3,692 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was well above the target speed of 111 knots.
The touchdown point was 97 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 99 knots, which was a little fast. However, the touchdown rate was good at -167 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of -2°C, with a wind speed of 6 knots at 240°.
The total landing distance was 1,747 meters, which accounted for 47% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, indicating a smooth and controlled landing. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took just 1 minute, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile.
In total, the flight covered a distance of 245 nautical miles, taking 48 minutes to complete, and used 571 kilograms of fuel. The flight was a testament to the capabilities of the Cessna CJ4 Citation, showcasing its performance in terms of speed, altitude gain, and fuel efficiency.
The Cessna CJ4 Citation aircraft successfully landed at UNKL Krasnoyarsk International Airport, achieving a high score of 96.6%. The final approach to runway 29 was conducted from the southeast, with a heading of 293.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,261 feet above ground level.
The aircraft touched down on the runway, with a threshold height that was considered good. However, the threshold speed was above the target speed, registering at 111 knots. The touchdown point was located 97 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, which may indicate a slight deviation from the intended landing spot.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was recorded at 99 knots, which was slightly faster than the desired speed. Nevertheless, the touchdown rate of -167 feet per minute was deemed good, indicating a controlled descent. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, suggesting that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway during the landing.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were characterized by a temperature of -2°C, with a wind speed of 6 knots from a direction of 240°. The crosswind component was 5 knots, while the headwind component was 4 knots. These conditions did not appear to significantly impact the landing.
The total landing distance was 1,747 meters, which accounted for 47% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, considering the runway length of 3,692 meters. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft achieving a high score and demonstrating good control and alignment during the landing phase.
