MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks at 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,399 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 551 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Airbus A320neo taxied from the parking area to runway 27L at LFPG, a movement that lasted 5 minutes and covered 2 nm.
The aircraft commenced its departure roll on runway 27L at LFPG, accelerating over a takeoff distance of 1,873 m, which represented 52 % of the runway. Liftoff was achieved at 172 kt. Ambient temperature was 31 °C with a wind of 8 kt from 282°, providing a headwind component of 8 kt and a cross-wind component of 2 kt.
Climb began 1 mile north-west of Roissy-en-France, with the airplane climbing from 1,332 ft asl to 37,000 ft asl, an altitude gain of 35,668 ft, accomplished in 20 minutes while covering 133 nm.
The first level cruise was established 2 miles south of Colmery, lasting 100 minutes and extending 767 nm.
Descent commenced 2 miles east of Cattolica Eraclea, descending from 36,593 ft asl to 2,989 ft asl, a loss of 33,604 ft, over 18 minutes and a distance of 111 nm.
A brief cruise segment followed 10 miles south-west of Dingli, lasting 2 minutes and covering 5 nm.
Subsequent descent began 6 miles south-west of Dingli, reducing altitude from 3,002 ft asl to 1,578 ft asl, a decrease of 1,424 ft, in 2 minutes and over 5 nm.
The final approach to runway 05 at LMML was flown from the south-west, on a heading of 54.0° at 4 nm and 1,309 ft agl. Local weather reported temperature 31 °C, wind 2 kt from 360°, yielding a headwind component of 1 kt and a cross-wind component of 2 kt.
Touchdown occurred 123 m beyond the touchdown zone on runway 05, with a touchdown speed of 133 kt and a firm touchdown rate of minus 311 fpm. The threshold speed was 135 kt and the total landing distance measured 1,238 m, representing 52 % of the runway.
Runway rollout alignment was perfect, and the aircraft decelerated along the remaining runway length after touchdown.
After rollout, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, a movement that took 2 minutes and covered less than 1 nm.
In total, the flight covered 1,029 nm, required 154 (unspecified units) of time, and consumed 5,062 kg of fuel.
The Airbus A320neo approached runway 05 at LMML Malta International Airport from the south-west on a heading of 54.0 deg at 4 nm and 1,309 ft agl. The approach was assessed as stabilised at the 1,000 ft gate, with gear, flaps, sink rate, glideslope and centreline all within limits, and the local weather was 31 C with a wind of 2 kt from 360 deg, including a 2 kt crosswind and a 1 kt headwind.
At threshold the height was reported as good and the threshold speed was good at 135 kt, indicating the aircraft was correctly configured for the flare.
Touchdown occurred 123 m beyond the touchdown zone with a speed of 133 kt, which was judged good, and the touchdown rate was firm at minus 311 fpm. Runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The aircraft rolled out over a total landing distance of 1,238 m, representing 52 % of the 2,399 m runway, and rollout alignment remained perfect.
To refine future performances, aim to achieve touchdown within the designated zone to reduce the overshoot distance, and moderate the flare to soften the firm touchdown rate while maintaining the current speed and alignment.
