Improve the pattern base leg turn
Bank angle in the pattern is conventionally kept to 20 to 30 degrees, and the base-to-final turn is where that convention earns its keep. Stall speed rises with bank because the wing must produce more lift in a turn. Roughly 7 per cent higher at 30 degrees, about 19 per cent at 45, and around 40 per cent at 60. At 65 kt on base you don't have much margin to spend steepening a turn to salvage an overshoot.

One stabilised approach gate for a circuit: six checks at the point nearest 500 ft above the runway after the base turn. The 1,000 ft gate is an instrument-approach check and does not apply. These checks are the approach's score.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,614 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 231 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Cessna 152 departed runway 11 at MDST Cibao International Airport, using a takeoff distance of 231 m which represented 9 % of the available runway. Liftoff was achieved at 42 kt. Ambient conditions were 15 °C with a wind of 1 kt from 270°, no cross-wind and a 1 kt tail-wind component.
During the traffic-pattern sequence the aircraft entered a left-hand pattern from runway 11, completing the entry in less than 1 nm over 88 seconds. The left-hand crosswind leg covered less than 1 nm in 27 seconds. The downwind turn was executed at a 45° angle of 61.5°, covering 1 nm, followed by a downwind leg of 3 nm completed in 99 seconds. The base-leg turn, also at a 45° angle, measured 15.7° and spanned 2 nm before the aircraft commenced the final approach.
The final approach to runway 11 involved a controlled descent from 991 ft AGL to 31 ft AGL in 85 seconds, during which the aircraft satisfied the stabilisation gates.
Landing was made on runway 11, whose length is 2,614 m. The threshold speed was slightly below the target at 47 kt, and touchdown occurred 228 m down the runway at 35 kt with a smooth vertical rate of minus 135 fpm. Runway-touchdown alignment was recorded as very good, and the same weather conditions as at departure prevailed.
In total the flight covered 8 nm, taking 7, and consumed 2 kg of fuel.
The Cessna 152 conducted the final approach to runway 11 at MDST Cibao International Airport, descending from 991 ft agl to 31 ft agl in 85 seconds while the local weather was 15 °C with a wind of 1 kt from 270°, cross-wind 0 kt and tail-wind 1 kt; the approach was scored on the stabilisation gates.
During the threshold and flare phase the aircraft encountered a good threshold height on runway 11, whose length is 2,614 m, and the threshold speed was a little below target at 47 kt.
Touchdown occurred 228 m down the runway at a speed of 35 kt, with a smooth vertical rate of minus 135 fpm and runway-touchdown alignment described as very good.
To bring the score even closer to perfection, adjust the approach speed to meet the exact target and verify the descent profile remains within the stabilisation gates throughout the final approach.
