MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,357 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 517 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 8 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a FFX P180, then departed from runway 23 at EHLE Lelystad Airport in the Netherlands. The takeoff distance was 842 meters, which accounted for 68% of the runway. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 126 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of takeoff were characterized by a temperature of 12 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 14 knots from a direction of 290 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 12 knots and a headwind of 6 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile southwest of EHLE Lelystad Airport and ascending from an altitude of 986 feet above sea level to 35,955 feet above sea level, an increase of 34,969 feet in 22 minutes and covering a distance of 59 nautical miles.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started overhead Ysselsteyn in the Netherlands and lasted for 97 minutes, covering a distance of 598 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 34 miles southeast of Llafranc in Spain and descending from an altitude of 36,083 feet above sea level to 2,471 feet above sea level, a decrease of 33,612 feet in 25 minutes and covering a distance of 117 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 10 miles south of Sant Lluis in Spain and lasted for 3 minutes, covering a distance of 7 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 01 at LEMH Menorca Airport was made from the south, with the aircraft heading 9.0 degrees at an altitude of 4 nautical miles and 1,259 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 01 at LEMH Menorca Airport was successful, with the aircraft touching down 94 meters beyond the touchdown zone at a speed of 101 knots. The touchdown rate was perfect at -16 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 6.1 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 13 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 29 knots from a direction of 340 degrees, resulting in a crosswind of 14 knots and a headwind of 26 knots.
The total landing distance was 939 meters, which accounted for 40% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good, and the aircraft was able to taxi to the parking from the runway in just 3 minutes, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 787 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 155 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 702 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The aircraft, FFX P180 03 01, successfully landed on runway 01 at LEMH Menorca Airport with a score of 90.4%. The final approach was initiated from the south, heading 9.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,259 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft's approach was characterized by a good threshold speed of 120 knots, which is a crucial factor in ensuring a safe and controlled landing.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was 101 knots, which is within the acceptable range. The touchdown rate of -16 feet per minute (fpm) was also perfect, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. However, the touchdown point was 94 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which may indicate a slight deviation from the intended landing spot.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 6.1 meters from the centerline, which may have been caused by a combination of factors including wind and pilot error. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 13°C, with a wind speed of 29 knots at 340°. This resulted in a crosswind of 14 knots and a headwind of 26 knots, which may have affected the aircraft's alignment during landing.
Despite the slight misalignment, the runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot was able to maintain control of the aircraft during the rollout phase. The total landing distance of 939 meters was 40% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. Overall, the landing was successful, but there is room for improvement in terms of alignment and touchdown point accuracy.
