MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Smooth the climb
A good takeoff has a defined shape. It also has a defined end. For an airliner that's thrust reduction and acceleration, commonly somewhere around 1,000 to 1,500 ft above the airfield depending on the operator, while for a light aircraft it's established at Vy with the flaps on schedule. Most simmers have no defined end to their takeoff, which is exactly why it never gets judged.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,863 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 344 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A320 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at KJAX Jacksonville International Airport, a process that took 7 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then departed from runway 26, with a takeoff distance of 1,658 meters, which was 55% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 160 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions of 24°C temperature and a 5-knot wind at 346°. The crosswind was 5 knots, while the tailwind was 1 knot. After departing from KJAX, the enroute climb started 1 mile west of the airport, with the aircraft climbing from 971 feet above sea level to 37,997 feet above sea level, an increase of 37,026 feet in 19 minutes and covering 124 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began 5 miles west of FL12 Ingalls Field Miccosukee, and lasted for 62 minutes, covering 466 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its enroute descent 18 miles southwest of LA12 Louisiana State Police Troop B Helipad Heliport Kenner, descending from 37,994 feet above sea level to 7,203 feet above sea level, a decrease of 30,791 feet in 18 minutes and covering 110 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, this time overhead Crosby, Texas, lasting for 5 minutes and covering 10 nautical miles. The enroute descent started 1 mile south of 3TS7 Pavlat Airport Dayton, with the aircraft descending from 6,388 feet above sea level to 1,344 feet above sea level, a decrease of 5,043 feet in 5 minutes and covering 16 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 26L at KIAH George Bush Intercontinental Houston Airport was from the east, with a heading of 270.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,244 feet above ground level. The aircraft landed on the runway, with a touchdown distance of 342 meters, which was good. The touchdown speed was 125 knots, and the touchdown rate was -156 feet per minute, both of which were good.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 25°C temperature and a 1-knot wind at 306°, with a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 1 knot. The total landing distance was 1,349 meters, which was 47% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, and the aircraft then taxiied to the parking area, a process that took 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 733 nautical miles, and the flight lasted for 121 minutes, using 3,864 kilograms of fuel.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed on runway 26L at KIAH George Bush Intercontinental Houston Airport, achieving a score of 99.7%. The aircraft approached the runway from the east, heading 270.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,244 feet above ground level (agl).
The final approach was executed with precision, and the aircraft landed smoothly on the runway. The threshold height was good, indicating that the aircraft was at the correct altitude as it approached the runway. However, the threshold speed was slightly below the target speed of 128 kt, coming in at 127 kt. Despite this minor deviation, the touchdown distance was good at 342 meters, and the touchdown speed of 125 kt was also within acceptable limits.
The touchdown rate of -156 feet per minute (fpm) was good, indicating that the aircraft touched down smoothly and did not experience any significant deceleration. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, demonstrating the pilot's skill and control during the landing.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 25°C and a wind speed of 1 kt from 306°. This resulted in a negligible crosswind and headwind, making the landing even more challenging and impressive.
The total landing distance of 1,349 meters was 47% of the runway length, indicating that the aircraft landed within a safe distance from the runway threshold. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, demonstrating the pilot's ability to maintain control and stability during the landing and rollout phases.
Overall, the Airbus A320's landing on runway 26L at KIAH George Bush Intercontinental Houston Airport was a textbook example of precision and skill, with the aircraft executing a smooth and controlled landing in challenging weather conditions.
