Fixing the bounce
Fast at the threshold, normal flare, and the runway seems to refuse the aircraft. The instinctive fix - pushing it on - causes the next one. A fast aircraft forced onto the runway touches nosewheel-first or nearly so. The tell is a touchdown that feels soft followed by a bounce that steepens. Pilots fix the bounce recovery; the cause was the 10 knots at the threshold.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
At the 500 ft gate: off the runway's 3° glideslope.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,728 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 688 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from KBFI Boeing Field King County International Airport, the PC-24 VIP aircraft began its journey by taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 8 minutes and covered 2 nautical miles. As it rolled down runway 14R, the aircraft accelerated to a liftoff speed of 132 knots, clearing the ground after a takeoff distance of 1,031 meters, which accounted for 37% of the available runway length. The local weather conditions at the time of departure featured a temperature of 25°C, with a gentle headwind of 3 knots and a crosswind of 1 knot.
As the aircraft climbed to its enroute cruise altitude, it traversed a significant vertical distance, increasing from 992 feet above sea level to 39,007 feet in just 18 minutes, covering a horizontal distance of 81 nautical miles. The climb phase was followed by a prolonged enroute level cruise, which lasted 103 minutes and spanned 626 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent, gradually losing altitude from 38,991 feet to 6,012 feet in 17 minutes, covering 107 nautical miles. The final descent phase, from 6,006 feet to 272 feet, was completed in just 8 minutes, with the aircraft covering 27 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered the final approach phase, aligning itself with runway 26 at PAJN Juneau International Airport, where it touched down after a total landing distance of 1,606 meters, which accounted for 63% of the available runway length.
The landing was characterized by a good threshold speed and a touchdown speed of 107 knots, with a touchdown rate of -55 feet per minute, indicating an excellent rate of descent. However, the touchdown point was slightly misaligned from the centreline, and the runway rollout alignment was also slightly off-centre. The total flight distance was 853 nautical miles, covering a duration of 158 minutes and consuming 1,785 kilograms of fuel. After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, a process that took just 1 minute and covered less than 1 nautical mile.
The final approach to runway 26 at PAJN Juneau International Airport was executed from the east, heading 286.0° at 1 nm and 235 ft above ground level. The approach quality was satisfactory, with a good threshold height and threshold speed of 109 kt, indicating a well-controlled descent. The aircraft touched down at a speed of 107 kt, which was within the acceptable range, and the touchdown rate of -55 fpm was excellent, demonstrating a smooth and controlled touchdown.
However, the touchdown point was located very long, utilizing more than 50% of the available runway. This may have been due to a slightly misaligned runway touchdown position, which was 4.3 m off the centreline. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 11 °C and a wind speed of 0 kt, did not pose any significant challenges to the landing. The total landing distance of 1,606 m, which accounted for 63% of the runway, was slightly above average.
During the rollout phase, the aircraft remained slightly misaligned from the centreline, deviating by 9.4 m. Despite this, the overall performance of the landing was satisfactory, with a score of 93.3%. The crew's ability to maintain control and execute a smooth touchdown, despite the slightly long touchdown point, was commendable.
