Improve the taxi
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,018 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 306 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, the aircraft began its journey by taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a brief 1-minute journey covering less than 1 nautical mile. With a local temperature of 16°C and a gentle headwind of 1 kt, the aircraft took off from runway 27, utilizing 20% of the 3,200-meter runway to achieve liftoff at 90 kt. The initial climb phase saw the aircraft ascend from 573 ft to 972 ft in just 1 minute, covering a distance of 1 nautical mile.
Throughout the enroute phase, the aircraft engaged in multiple climb and level cruise segments, navigating through the Dutch airspace. Notably, the climb from 479 ft to 992 ft in 2 minutes, covering 3 nautical miles, demonstrated a significant increase in altitude. The aircraft also experienced several level cruise segments, including a 15-minute period at 33 nautical miles south of Lijnden, and a 3-minute segment at 7 nautical miles over Wijk aan Zee. The descent phase saw the aircraft descend from 1,044 ft to 363 ft in 2 minutes, covering 4 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, it began its final approach to runway 22 from the north-east, aligning with the runway at 93 ft above ground level. The landing was executed with precision, with a touchdown speed of 65 kt and a touchdown rate of -85 fpm. The total landing distance of 619 meters, or 31% of the 2,018-meter runway, was well within acceptable limits. Following a smooth taxiing journey to the parking area, the aircraft concluded its 33-minute flight, covering a total distance of 64 nautical miles and utilizing 16 kg of fuel.
The aircraft DA42-VI successfully executed a final approach to runway 22 at EHAM Amsterdam Airport Schiphol from the north east, aligning with the heading of 222.0° at 0 nm and 93 ft above ground level. The approach quality was excellent, with a good threshold height and a slightly above-target threshold speed of 77 kt. The aircraft maintained a steady descent, touching down at a distance of 305 m, which was within the acceptable range. The touchdown speed of 65 kt was also good, and the touchdown rate of -85 fpm was exceptional, indicating a smooth and controlled landing.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft maintained its centreline alignment, with a very good runway touchdown alignment. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 15 °C and a wind speed of 1 kt at 270°, contributed to a relatively calm and stable environment. The crosswind and headwind components were minimal, at 1 kt each, which further facilitated a smooth landing. The total landing distance of 619 m, accounting for 31% of the runway length, was well within the acceptable range.
The rollout phase was also executed smoothly, with a very good runway rollout alignment. The aircraft maintained its centreline alignment throughout the rollout, demonstrating excellent control and stability. Overall, the landing was scored 99.8%, reflecting the high level of proficiency and control demonstrated by the pilot during the approach, touchdown, and rollout phases.
