MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,284 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 602 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Honda Jet taxiing from the parking area to the runway at UBBB Heydar Aliyev International Airport, a process that took less than a minute and covered a distance of less than a nautical mile. The aircraft then departed from runway 35, with a takeoff distance of 830 meters, which is 25% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 125 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions with a temperature of 7 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 22 knots at 330 degrees. The crosswind component was 11 knots, while the headwind component was 19 knots. The aircraft climbed from 1,013 feet above sea level to 6,110 feet above sea level, an increase of 5,096 feet, in just 3 minutes and covering a distance of 9 nautical miles.
The enroute climb started overhead UBBB Heydar Aliyev International Airport, and the aircraft continued to climb to higher altitudes. The next enroute climb started overhead Mardakan, where the aircraft climbed from 2,379 feet above sea level to 3,118 feet above sea level, an increase of 740 feet, in 2 minutes and covering a distance of 8 nautical miles.
The enroute descent started 3 miles north of Bilajer, where the aircraft descended from 6,083 feet above sea level to 2,325 feet above sea level, a decrease of 3,758 feet, in 2 minutes and covering a distance of 8 nautical miles. The next enroute descent started 3 miles south-east of Hovsan, where the aircraft descended from 3,198 feet above sea level to 1,893 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,304 feet, in 2 minutes and covering a distance of 8 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 9 miles south of Turkan and lasted for 5 minutes, covering a distance of 12 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 35 at UBBB Heydar Aliyev International Airport was made from the south, with a heading of 360 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,286 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 35 was made with a runway length of 3,284 meters. The threshold height was well above the target, and the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 120 knots. The touchdown point was 389 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 102 knots, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was very hard at -585 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown position was significantly misaligned by 21.7 meters from the centerline.
The local weather conditions during the landing were a temperature of 7 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 13 knots at 330 degrees, with a crosswind component of 6 knots and a headwind component of 11 knots. The total flight distance was 49 nautical miles, and the flight took 20 minutes, using 128 kilograms of fuel.
The Honda Jet's landing at UBBB Heydar Aliyev International Airport was evaluated with a score of 76.5%. The aircraft approached the runway from the south, heading 360.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,286 feet above ground level (agl). The landing was conducted on runway 35, which has a length of 3,284 meters.
Upon evaluating the landing, it was noted that the threshold height at 78 feet agl was well above the target, indicating that the aircraft descended more than necessary before touching down. Additionally, the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 120 knots, suggesting that the aircraft may have been slightly too fast during the final approach.
The touchdown point was located 389 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which indicates that the aircraft landed farther down the runway than intended. Furthermore, the touchdown speed of 102 knots was a little fast, and the touchdown rate was very hard at -585 feet per minute (fpm), which could have put additional stress on the aircraft's landing gear.
Another notable issue was the runway touchdown position, which was significantly misaligned by 21.7 meters from the centerline. This misalignment could have been caused by a combination of factors, including crosswind or pilot error.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were characterized by a temperature of 7°C and winds of 13 knots at 330°. The crosswind component was 6 knots, while the headwind component was 11 knots. These conditions may have contributed to the challenges faced by the pilot during the landing.
