Avoid steep turns at low altitude
Below a thousand feet the aeroplane is slow, heavy and close to the ground. A steep turn loses lift, raises the stall speed and flattens the climb just when the gradient matters most. A normal turn on course is a rate one — fifteen degrees or so, twenty-five at the outside, this penalty is to acknowledge when a turn has stopped being a turn and become a manoeuvre.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
At the 1,000 ft gate: speed above the reference speed.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,794 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 517 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 7 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft then departed from runway 28 at LEAL Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport, with a takeoff distance of 792 meters, which was 27% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 142 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 17°C, with a wind speed of 26 knots at a direction of 260°. This resulted in a crosswind of 9 knots and a headwind of 24 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 2 miles west of the airport, and climbed from an altitude of 1,270 feet above sea level to 15,945 feet above sea level, an increase of 14,674 feet, in just 5 minutes and covering a distance of 19 nautical miles.
Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise, starting 2 miles south of Elche, and lasted for 13 minutes, covering a distance of 98 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 13 miles southwest of Es Cubells, and descended from an altitude of 16,000 feet above sea level to 3,008 feet above sea level, a decrease of 12,992 feet, in 10 minutes and covering a distance of 49 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, starting 6 miles east of Sant Carles de Peralta, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 5 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent, starting 3 miles east of Santa Eularia des Riu, and descended from an altitude of 2,993 feet above sea level to 1,454 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,539 feet, in 3 minutes and covering a distance of 7 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 24 at LEIB Ibiza Airport was made from the northeast, heading 242.0°, at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,424 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 24, which had a length of 2,794 meters. The threshold height at 58 feet above ground level was slightly above the target, but the threshold speed was good at 125 knots.
The touchdown point was 92 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 118 knots, which was a little fast. However, the touchdown rate was excellent at -58 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.7 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 14°C, with a wind speed of 19 knots at a direction of 250°, resulting in a crosswind of 3 knots and a headwind of 19 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,081 meters, which was 39% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 4 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 189 nautical miles, taking 47 minutes, and the aircraft used 737 kilograms of fuel.
Aircraft C750 successfully landed on runway 24 at LEIB Ibiza Airport, achieving a score of 98.0%. The final approach was initiated from the north east, heading 242.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,424 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft's approach was well-executed, with a threshold speed of 125 knots, which was within the target range.
However, there were a few minor deviations from the ideal landing. The threshold height at 58 feet agl was slightly above the target, indicating a slight delay in the aircraft's descent. Additionally, the touchdown speed of 118 knots was a little fast, suggesting that the pilot may have been able to flare the aircraft more effectively to achieve a smoother touchdown. On the positive side, the touchdown rate was excellent at -58 feet per minute (fpm), indicating a controlled and stable descent.
The touchdown point was 92 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which is a relatively minor deviation. Furthermore, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.7 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to a slight drift or crosswind effect. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 14°C, a wind speed of 19 knots at 250°, resulting in a 3-knot crosswind and a 19-knot headwind.
The total landing distance of 1,081 meters was 39% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was successful, and the pilot demonstrated good skills and control throughout the approach and landing phases.
