Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,652 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 283 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 6 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-700, then departed from runway 17L at Calgary International Airport (CYYC) in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The takeoff distance was 1,101 meters, which accounted for 26% of the runway. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 149 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to its cruising altitude, it encountered local weather conditions of a temperature of -13°C and a wind speed of 6 knots at 168 degrees. The crosswind component was 1 knot, while the headwind component was 6 knots. The enroute climb started overhead CYYC Calgary International Airport and took the aircraft from an altitude of 4,578 feet above sea level to 36,490 feet above sea level, an increase of 31,911 feet in 9 minutes, covering a distance of 93 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 26 miles northeast of Brooks Regional Airport (CYBP) in Brooks, Alberta, Canada, and lasted for 60 minutes, covering a distance of 413 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent from an altitude of 37,477 feet above sea level to 5,526 feet above sea level, a decrease of 31,951 feet in 23 minutes, covering a distance of 138 nautical miles. The descent started 14 miles northeast of Virden / RJ (Bob) Andrew Field Regional Aerodrome (CYVD) in Virden, Manitoba, Canada.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, this time starting overhead St. Adolphe, Manitoba, Canada, and lasting for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 8 nautical miles. The enroute descent started 3 miles southwest of Landmark, Manitoba, Canada, and took the aircraft from an altitude of 4,899 feet above sea level to 3,076 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,823 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 6 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, starting 1 mile north of Ile des Chenes, Manitoba, Canada, and lasting for 3 minutes, covering a distance of 9 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 31 at Winnipeg / James Armstrong Richardson International Airport (CYWG) was made from the southeast, heading 318.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,261 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 31 at CYWG was successful, with a touchdown distance of 283 meters and a touchdown speed of 125 knots. The touchdown rate was fair at -286 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.6 meters from the centreline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of -27°C and a wind speed of 6 knots at 320 degrees, with a crosswind component of 0 knots and a headwind component of 6 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,243 meters, which accounted for 47% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 3 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 676 nautical miles, taking 94 minutes, and the aircraft used 3,823 kilograms of fuel.
The Boeing 737-700 aircraft successfully landed at Winnipeg / James Armstrong Richardson International Airport (CYWG) on runway 31. The final approach was initiated from the southeast, heading 318.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,261 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft demonstrated a high level of proficiency in its approach, achieving a score of 97.8%.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway with a speed of 132 knots, which was within the acceptable threshold speed. The touchdown distance of 283 meters was also within the expected range, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. However, the touchdown rate of -286 feet per minute (fpm) was only fair, suggesting that the aircraft could have maintained a more stable rate of descent.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 5.6 meters, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the aircraft's approach path. Despite this, the runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft's brakes were applied smoothly and effectively.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of -27°C and a wind speed of 6 knots from 320°. The crosswind component was negligible, while the headwind component was 6 knots, which may have contributed to the aircraft's slightly misaligned touchdown position.
Overall, the landing was successful, and the aircraft demonstrated a high level of proficiency in its approach and touchdown. However, there is room for improvement in terms of maintaining a more stable rate of descent and ensuring a more precise touchdown position.
