Improve the rollout
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,748 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,748 m of the 3,596 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 538 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 18 minutes and covered a distance of 4 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 777-300, then departed from runway 07R at Frankfurt Airport (EDDF), with a takeoff distance of 1,649 meters, which accounted for 41% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 180 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions of 10°C temperature and a wind speed of 13 knots at 49 degrees. The crosswind was 4 knots, while the headwind was 12 knots. The enroute climb started overhead Frankfurt Airport, where the aircraft climbed from 1,387 feet above sea level to 4,803 feet, an increase of 3,417 feet in just 2 minutes, covering a distance of 7 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began 1 mile west of Heusenstamm, lasting 2 minutes and covering 7 nautical miles. However, the aircraft soon began another climb, this time from 5,137 feet to 34,362 feet, an increase of 29,225 feet in 14 minutes, covering a distance of 94 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise resumed 2 miles northwest of Ederheim, lasting 126 minutes and covering 1,068 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began another climb, this time from 33,828 feet to 35,603 feet, an increase of 1,775 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 14 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise started 7 miles east of Ihsangazi, lasting 163 minutes and covering 1,309 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its descent from 38,184 feet to 1,325 feet, a decrease of 36,858 feet in 24 minutes, covering a distance of 126 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 12L at Dubai International Airport (OMDB) was from the northwest, with a heading of 121.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,286 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 12L was successful, with a touchdown point 114 meters beyond the touchdown zone. However, the touchdown speed was a little fast at 135 knots, and the touchdown rate was smooth at -124 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was misaligned by 8.1 meters from the centerline, and the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 8.3 meters from the centerline.
The total landing distance was 1,659 meters, accounting for 46% of the runway. The taxiing to the parking from the runway took 13 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 2,636 nautical miles, taking 355 minutes and using 41,326 kilograms of fuel.
The Boeing 777-300 aircraft successfully landed at Dubai International Airport (OMDB) on runway 12L, achieving a score of 96.2%. The final approach was initiated from the north-west, heading 121.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,286 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft maintained a good threshold height, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 141 knots.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft landed 114 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, which is slightly outside the recommended area. The touchdown speed of 135 knots was a bit faster than ideal, but the touchdown rate was smooth at -124 feet per minute (fpm). However, the runway touchdown position was misaligned by 8.1 meters from the centerline, which may have contributed to the slightly off-center touchdown.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 36°C and a wind speed of 8 knots from 190°. The crosswind component was 8 knots, while the headwind component was 3 knots. Despite these conditions, the aircraft's landing distance of 1,659 meters was only 46% of the available runway length, indicating a relatively short landing roll.
During the rollout, the aircraft's alignment was slightly off-center by 8.3 meters from the centerline. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft achieving a high score despite some minor deviations from ideal performance.
