Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,282 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 424 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 26 at Lennart Meri Tallinn Airport, where the aircraft, a Cessna CJ4 Citation, accelerated down the 344-meter runway, covering 12% of its length. The liftoff speed was achieved at 117 knots, and the aircraft lifted off into the local weather conditions, which included a temperature of 4°C and a wind of 18 knots at 317 degrees. The crosswind component was 13 knots, while the headwind component was 12 knots.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb, which started overhead the airport and took the aircraft up to a height of 38,812 feet above sea level. This climb, which covered a distance of 71 nautical miles, took 14 minutes to complete and involved an increase in altitude of 37,666 feet. The aircraft then leveled off and entered a cruise phase, which lasted for 2 minutes and covered a distance of 14 nautical miles.
The enroute descent phase began 33 miles south west of Hanko, Finland, and took the aircraft down from a height of 38,795 feet to 1,378 feet above sea level. This descent, which covered a distance of 124 nautical miles, took 29 minutes to complete and involved a decrease in altitude of 37,417 feet. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 01L at Stockholm-Arlanda Airport, which it approached from the south at a heading of 10.0 degrees.
The landing was made on runway 01L, which was 3,282 meters long. The threshold speed was slightly below the target speed at 98 knots, but the touchdown distance was good at 425 meters. The touchdown speed was also good at 82 knots, and the touchdown rate was good at -166 feet per minute. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centreline by 6.7 meters.
The total landing distance was 978 meters, which was 30% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned from the centreline by 10.7 meters. After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, which took 9 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 214 nautical miles, and the flight used 467 kilograms of fuel.
The Cessna CJ4 Citation successfully landed at ESSA Stockholm-Arlanda Airport, achieving a score of 94.9%. The aircraft approached the runway from the south, heading 10.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,254 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot executed a precise final approach, taking into account the local weather conditions, which included a temperature of 2°C, wind speed of 12 knots at 310°, and a crosswind of 11 knots.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on runway 01L, which has a length of 3,282 meters. The threshold height was satisfactory, and the threshold speed was slightly below the target speed of 98 knots. The touchdown distance of 425 meters was also within acceptable limits, and the touchdown speed of 82 knots was good. The touchdown rate of -166 feet per minute (fpm) was also satisfactory, indicating a smooth and controlled descent.
However, there were some minor deviations from the ideal landing performance. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 6.7 meters from the centerline, and the runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned by 10.7 meters from the centerline. These deviations were minor and did not significantly impact the overall performance of the landing.
The local weather conditions played a significant role in the landing, with a moderate wind speed of 12 knots and a crosswind of 11 knots. The pilot successfully managed the aircraft to compensate for the wind, resulting in a good touchdown speed and distance. The headwind of 6 knots also contributed to a smoother landing, as it helped to reduce the aircraft's ground speed and rate of descent.
Overall, the Cessna CJ4 Citation demonstrated a high level of proficiency in landing at ESSA Stockholm-Arlanda Airport, with a score of 94.9%. The pilot's ability to adapt to the local weather conditions and execute a precise final approach resulted in a successful landing, with only minor deviations from the ideal performance.
