MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,653 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,653 m of the 3,594 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 697 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
A Boeing 777-300 aircraft departed from Helsinki Vantaa Airport (EFHK), where it began taxiing for 9 minutes and covered 2 nautical miles before reaching the runway. After a departure roll on runway 04R, the aircraft lifted off at a speed of 194 knots and covered a distance of 1,417 meters, which accounted for 44% of the runway.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it started enroute climb operations approximately 1 mile north east of Helsinki Vantaa Airport, at an altitude of 1,241 feet above sea level. During this phase, the plane continued to ascend to a height of 32,461 feet above sea level, an increase of 31,221 feet, while covering 60 nautical miles in 11 minutes. This significant climb marked the beginning of the aircraft's ascent into the sky.
Following the climb phase, the aircraft transitioned into level cruise operations, which commenced 5 miles west of Pernioe in Varsinais-Suomi, Finland. At an altitude of 32,461 feet, the plane maintained this cruise level for 29 minutes, covering a considerable distance of 240 nautical miles. This period of steady flight provided a brief respite after the demanding initial climb phase.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it initiated the enroute descent phase, starting 3 miles south of Kopparberg in Örebro County, Sweden. This descent saw the aircraft descend from a height of 32,598 feet to 10,274 feet above sea level, a decrease of 22,323 feet, while covering 89 nautical miles in 14 minutes.
Following this descent, the aircraft conducted another period of level cruise operations, which lasted for 7 minutes, as it flew 1 mile north east of Kongsvinger in Innlandet, Norway. During this short phase, the plane managed to cover a distance of 26 nautical miles.
Finally, the aircraft began its final approach to runway 19R at ENGM Oslo Airport, Gardermoen, where it started descending from a height of 9,836 feet above sea level to 1,944 feet, a decrease of 7,892 feet, while covering 28 nautical miles in 9 minutes. This final approach set the stage for a smooth touchdown on the runway.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft successfully landed on the runway at Oslo Airport, Gardermoen. The landing was characterized by a threshold speed of 140 knots, a touchdown speed of 134 knots, and a smooth touchdown rate of -115 feet per minute. Runway touchdown alignment was very good, and the aircraft was able to roll out of the runway in a very good alignment after landing.
After completing the landing, the aircraft taxiied to the parking for 5 minutes, covering less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 452 nautical miles, lasting 84 minutes and using approximately 10,045 kilograms of fuel.
A Boeing 777-300 has successfully landed at ENGM Oslo Airport, Gardermoen, on runway 19R from an approaching direction of 196.0° from the north, at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,262 feet above ground level. The landing achieved a score of 95.6%, indicating a very good performance in terms of approach and landing characteristics.
Upon final approach, the aircraft was at an altitude slightly above the target threshold height of 57 feet above ground level. However, the threshold speed was satisfactory, reaching 140 knots, which is the recommended speed for landing. The touchdown point was located 287 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, but the touchdown speed of 134 knots was good and within the acceptable range. Additionally, the touchdown rate was smooth at -115 feet per minute, indicating no severe deceleration upon contact with the runway.
The local weather conditions at ENGM during the landing favored the aircraft's operation, with a temperature of 4°C, minimal wind speeds of 2 knots, and no crosswind. The presence of a tailwind of 2 knots did not significantly impact the aircraft's performance. Following a total landing distance of 1,577 meters, which only constitutes 44% of the total runway length, the aircraft was well-aligned during the rollout phase, and the runway touchdown alignment was deemed very good.
In summary, the landing of the Boeing 777-300 at ENGM on runway 19R was characterized by good performance in terms of speed, touchdown rate, and alignment, resulting in a score of 95.6%. The favorable weather conditions and well-executed approach and landing maneuvers contributed to the successful landing.
