Improve the rollout
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,360 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 366 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 7 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Boeing 777-300, then departed from runway 36 at ENTC Tromsø Airport, Langnes. The takeoff distance was 908 meters, which is 45% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 170 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were a temperature of 7°C, with a wind speed of 17 knots at a direction of 10°. This resulted in a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 17 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile north of ENTC Tromsø Airport, Langnes. The climb took 11 minutes and covered 57 nautical miles, with the aircraft ascending from 1,046 feet above sea level to 32,429 feet above sea level, an increase of 31,383 feet.
After the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise, starting 13 miles west of Sjovegan. This phase of the flight lasted 29 minutes and covered 237 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 16 miles southwest of Trofors. The descent took 25 minutes and covered 122 nautical miles, with the aircraft descending from 33,048 feet above sea level to 1,515 feet above sea level, a decrease of 31,534 feet.
The final approach to runway 27 at ENVA Trondheim Airport, Værnes was made from the east, with a heading of 270.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,463 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 27, which has a length of 2,360 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also good at 141 knots. The touchdown distance was good at 365 meters, but the touchdown speed was a little fast at 139 knots. The touchdown rate was firm at -323 feet per minute.
The runway touchdown position was misaligned by 14.5 meters from the centreline, and the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 14.6 meters from the centreline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 9°C, with a wind speed of 14 knots at a direction of 239°. This resulted in a crosswind of 7 knots and a headwind of 12 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,349 meters, which is 57% of the runway length. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 2 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 423 nautical miles, and the flight took 75 minutes. The aircraft used 8,214 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 777-300 aircraft successfully landed at ENVA Trondheim Airport, Værnes, with a score of 92.2%. The final approach to runway 27 was initiated from the east, heading 270.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,463 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft's approach was executed with good threshold height, indicating a well-controlled descent.
Upon touchdown, the threshold speed was recorded at 141 knots, which is within the acceptable range. However, the touchdown speed of 139 knots was slightly faster than desired, suggesting a minor deviation from the optimal landing speed. The touchdown rate of -323 feet per minute (fpm) was firm, indicating a controlled touchdown.
Despite the good threshold height and speed, the runway touchdown position was misaligned by 14.5 meters from the centerline. This minor deviation may have been due to factors such as wind or pilot error. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 9°C, with a wind speed of 14 knots at 239°. The crosswind component was 7 knots, while the headwind component was 12 knots.
The total landing distance of 1,349 meters was 57% of the available runway length, indicating a relatively short landing distance. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 14.6 meters from the centerline, suggesting a minor deviation from the optimal rollout path.
Overall, the landing was successful, with a score of 92.2%. While there were minor deviations from the optimal landing parameters, the aircraft's performance was generally good, and the pilots demonstrated a high level of skill and control throughout the approach and landing phases.
