Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 917 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 917 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 689 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight in the Cessna C182 began at LSGK Saanen Airfield, entering runway 08. The average speed during departure was 0 knots. The departure roll on runway 08 covered 518 meters, which was 67% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 73 knots. The local weather at the time of departure was 16 °C with a wind speed of 10 knots coming from 11°, resulting in a crosswind of 9 knots and a headwind of 4 knots.
During the departure climb to 50 ft above ground level, the aircraft continued to ascend. The climb to 400 ft and 1,000 ft above ground level also proceeded smoothly. The enroute climb started overhead Saanen in Canton de Berne, Switzerland. The aircraft climbed from 3,942 ft above sea level to 4,802 ft, covering a distance of 1 nautical mile in 1 minute.
Once in level cruise, the flight continued for 3 minutes covering a distance of 4 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 14 at LSTS Sankt Stephan Airfield was initiated from the northwest at an altitude of 217 ft above ground level. The landing on runway 14 covered a distance of 917 meters. During the landing, the aircraft's threshold speed of 72 knots was deemed too high.
The touchdown point was farther down the runway than desired, using more than 75% of the available length. The touchdown speed was 58 knots, which was faster than optimal. However, the touchdown rate was good at -190 ft per minute. The aircraft landed slightly off-center, misaligned by 4.5 meters from the centerline. The local weather during landing was 15 °C with a wind speed of 10 knots coming from 10°, resulting in a crosswind of 8 knots and a tailwind of 6 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,136 meters, which was 124% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment after landing was slightly misaligned by 11.0 meters from the centerline. Upon exiting the runway, the average speed was 16 knots. Taxiing from the runway to the parking area took 1 minute and covered less than 1 nautical mile.
Overall, the total flight distance covered was 7 nautical miles, lasting 7 minutes and using 3 kg of fuel.
