MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,692 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 642 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A320 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Nice-Côte d'Azur Airport, taking approximately 9 minutes to cover a distance of 2 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 22L, with a takeoff distance of 1,235 meters, which accounted for 42% of the runway. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 168 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of 19°C temperature and a wind speed of 13 knots at 190 degrees. The crosswind was 7 knots, while the headwind was 10 knots. The enroute climb began approximately 1 mile south of Saint-Laurent-du-Var, France, and the aircraft ascended from an altitude of 1,086 feet above sea level to 33,889 feet above sea level, an increase of 32,803 feet, in 14 minutes and covering a distance of 130 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started overhead Saint-Ondras, France, and lasted for 7 minutes, covering a distance of 107 nautical miles. The enroute descent began overhead Quetigny, France, and the aircraft descended from 33,882 feet above sea level to 1,669 feet above sea level, a decrease of 32,214 feet, in 33 minutes and covering a distance of 148 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 09L at Charles de Gaulle International Airport was made from the west, heading 85.0 degrees at an altitude of 1,285 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway. The landing took place on runway 09L, which had a length of 2,692 meters. The threshold height was significantly above the target, but the threshold speed was good at 139 knots.
The touchdown point was 189 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was a little fast at 134 knots. However, the touchdown rate was good at -171 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 18°C temperature and a wind speed of 9 knots at 80 degrees, with a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 9 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,198 meters, which accounted for 45% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect. After landing, the aircraft taxiied to the parking area, taking approximately 7 minutes to cover a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 393 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 69 minutes, with a fuel consumption of 271 kilograms.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed on runway 09L at LFPG Charles de Gaulle International Airport, achieving an overall score of 87.8%. The aircraft approached the runway from the west, heading 85.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,285 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was executed with precision, with the aircraft aligning perfectly with the runway touchdown zone.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down 189 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, which is slightly beyond the acceptable threshold. The touchdown speed of 134 knots was a bit faster than the target speed, indicating that the pilots may have needed to apply more braking force to bring the aircraft to a stop. However, the touchdown rate of -171 feet per minute (fpm) was within the acceptable range, indicating a smooth and controlled descent.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 18°C and a headwind of 9 knots at 80°. The crosswind component was minimal, at 1 knot, which made the landing process relatively straightforward. The runway length of 2,692 meters was sufficient to accommodate the aircraft's landing distance of 1,198 meters, which accounted for 45% of the runway.
The runway rollout alignment was perfect, indicating that the pilots maintained control of the aircraft during the braking phase and brought it to a stop in a straight line. Overall, the landing was executed with a high degree of precision and control, despite a few minor deviations from the target parameters.
