MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 12,791 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 2,419 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
A Cessna CJ4 Citation aircraft began its journey from the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, taxiing from the parking area to the runway for approximately 3 minutes, covering a distance of about 1 nautical mile. Departure roll was initiated on runway 18L, with the aircraft taking off after covering 1,779 feet of the 13% of the runway length. The takeoff speed was achieved at 140 knots.
As the aircraft lifted off, the local weather conditions were in its favor, with a temperature of 60°F and a gentle wind blowing at 2 knots from a direction of 270°, which was minimal crosswind at 2 knots but a negligible headwind at 0 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, departing the airport's vicinity and heading towards its destination. The climb began approximately 1 mile south-west of the KDFW Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and took 9 minutes to reach its cruising altitude. During this time, the aircraft ascended from 1,597 feet above sea level to an altitude of 24,921 feet above sea level, covering a distance of 31 nautical miles.
The CJ4 Citation continued its journey, entering an enroute level cruise after crossing 1 mile west of the Four Winds Celina airport, where it cruised for 36 minutes, covering a distance of 257 nautical miles. Following this, the aircraft began its enroute descent, which started 7 miles west of the Fredonia airport in Kansas. The descent was steep, with the aircraft decreasing its altitude from 25,003 feet to 3,087 feet above sea level in 14 minutes, covering a distance of 74 nautical miles. However, to conserve fuel and time, the aircraft then restarted its enroute cruise 2 miles north-east of the Overbrook airport in Kansas, flying level for a short duration of 2 minutes, covering a distance of 7 nautical miles.
The aircraft continued its approach to its final destination, the Topeka Regional Airport, and began its final approach to runway 31 from the south-east. After aligning its path with the runway, the CJ4 Citation began its descent at an elevation of 4 nautical miles from the airport and 1,260 feet above ground level. The local weather conditions remained favorable, with a temperature of 59°F, 2 kt wind at 270°, 1 kt crosswind, and 1 kt headwind.
The CJ4 Citation successfully landed on runway 31, with the touchdown speed being slightly fast at 95 kt. However, the touchdown rate of -121 fpm was smooth, and the runway touchdown alignment was very accurate. The aircraft touched down beyond the designated touchdown zone but well within the runway's length. The total landing distance covered was 3,741 feet, which is 29% of the 12,791 feet long runway. The CJ4 Citation taxiied to the parking area from the runway in under 1 minute, covering less than a nautical mile. The total flight distance was 378 nautical miles, with the flight duration being 70 minutes. The aircraft consumed no fuel during this journey.
The Cessna CJ4 Citation aircraft successfully landed at Topeka Regional Airport, KFOE, with a final approach score of 89.8%. The aircraft's approach was from the southeast, heading 317.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,260 feet above ground level (agl), before touching down on runway 31, which is 12,791 feet long.
Upon approaching the threshold, the aircraft's height was 62 feet agl, which was above the target height. Furthermore, the threshold speed was reported to be too high at 111 kt, which may have contributed to the subsequent landing issues.
The aircraft touched down 1,238 feet beyond the touchdown zone, and with a touchdown speed of 95 kt, which was a tad fast for the conditions. Despite these slight deviations, the touchdown rate was remarkably smooth, with a descent rate of -121 fpm. Additionally, the runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating precise control over the aircraft.
Weather conditions during the landing were mild, with temperatures of 59°F and negligible wind, 2 kt at 270°, resulting in a crosswind of 1 kt and a headwind of 1 kt. Considering these conditions, the total landing distance of 3,741 feet was within reason, accounting for approximately 29% of the runway length.
Ultimately, during the rollout following touchdown, the aircraft maintained perfect runway alignment, a testament to the pilot's skill and control over the aircraft.
