Improve the pattern downwind leg
The 45-degrees-behind-the-wing cue assumes you can turn your head and use peripheral vision. Downwind spacing cues like "put the wingtip halfway up the strut" assume a fixed, known eyepoint. Neither survives a monitor unmodified. If you fly on a fixed monitor, stop pretending and fly a numbers-based circuit.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate for a circuit: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate is an instrument-approach check and does not apply.
Side view — the last 6,835 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 6,835 ft of the 11,485 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 2,954 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a quick taxiing process from the parking area to the runway, taking less than 1 minute and covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, an Airbus A350-900, then departed from runway 32L at Toulouse-Blagnac Airport (LFBO). The takeoff distance was 3,174 feet, which is 28% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 150 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time of takeoff were a temperature of 49°F and a wind speed of 5 knots from a direction of 320°.
After takeoff, the aircraft entered a left-hand pattern, which involved a series of turns and descents to prepare for landing. The pattern entry from runway 32L was completed in less than 1 nautical mile in just 6 seconds. The left-hand pattern crosswind was also navigated in a short distance of less than 1 nautical mile in 13 seconds. The aircraft then proceeded to the downwind turn, covering a distance of 1 nautical mile at an angle of 45 degrees to the runway, with a heading of 139.1°. The downwind leg followed, covering a distance of 2 nautical miles in 33 seconds.
The base leg turn was then completed, covering a distance of 2 nautical miles at an angle of 45 degrees to the runway, with a heading of 24.0°. The final approach to runway 32L was made from the southeast, with a heading of 321.0° at an altitude of 166 feet above ground level (agl) and a distance of 0 nautical miles from the runway.
The landing on runway 32L was successful, with a threshold height that was good and a threshold speed that was slightly above the target at 128 knots. The touchdown point was 1,562 feet beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 114 knots, which was good. The touchdown rate was also perfect at -33 feet per minute (fpm). The runway touchdown alignment was very good, and the local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 45°F and a wind speed of 5 knots from a direction of 323°.
The total landing distance was 6,543 feet, which is 57% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was also very good. After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, taking 3 minutes and covering a distance of 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 7 nautical miles, and the flight took 8 minutes to complete. The aircraft used 2,149 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A350-900 successfully landed at Toulouse-Blagnac Airport, achieving a score of 92.8%. The aircraft approached the runway from the southeast, aligning itself with a heading of 321.0° at an altitude of 166 feet above ground level (agl) and 0 nautical miles from the runway.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on runway 32L, which has a length of 11,485 feet. The threshold height was satisfactory, and the threshold speed was slightly above the target speed of 128 knots. The touchdown point was located 1,562 feet beyond the touchdown zone, which is a relatively safe distance considering the runway length.
The touchdown speed of 114 knots was within the acceptable range, and the touchdown rate of -33 feet per minute (fpm) was perfect, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. The runway touchdown alignment was also very good, suggesting that the pilot maintained a stable and consistent approach.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 45°F and a wind speed of 5 knots from 323°. The crosswind component was negligible, while the headwind component was 5 knots, which may have contributed to the slightly above-target threshold speed.
The total landing distance of 6,543 feet was 57% of the runway length, which is a reasonable distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, indicating that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was successful, and the pilot demonstrated good control and judgment throughout the approach and landing phases. However, there is room for improvement in terms of achieving the target threshold speed.
